AP story, so I'll only quote the beginning of it:

"The exhibition game between the New York Knicks and Maccabi Tel Aviv has been delayed for about 10 minutes because the visiting coach refused to leave the floor after being ejected in the third quarter.

In a bizarre scene, a rabbi even came onto the court to ask the referees to let Pini Geshon remain."

This gets even more bizarre ...not directly related I think but there may be some connection?

Longtime Maccabi Tel Aviv leader hangs himself at Jerusalem home (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/basketball/nba/10/19/maccabi.ap/index.html)

Police say former Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball executive Moni Fanan hanged himself at home on Monday.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate the former Maccabi chairman for nearly an hour before he was declared dead. He was 63. There were no further details available.

The highly popular Fanan, who had a wife and two children, managed the high-profile basketball club for 16 years and won 15 league titles before stepping down a year ago amid clashes with other team officials. Fanan, who was a fixture on the Maccabi bench, also helped the team to three European titles.
