I've been thinking about getting a motorcycle for some time now, and I have a few questions that some of you may be able to answer.

1. Insurance, whats it run you?
2. Licensing, is there a special license you need or will a good ole dl work?


I'm trying to weigh the pro's and cons, and I'm probably going to go with one, but I'm not completely sure yet.

They follow you around for the road test.

Like the test for cars, except you are riding a cycle? The DPS officer will follow you around and yell at you through his speaker for you to follow the driving instructions.

I think I saw where that Harley store on 35 north 410 on the NE side was giving lessons or something. Try calling them.

Nope you still have to take a motorcycle road test.

When I did it many many moons ago the DPS officer followed you and would honk his horn, something like one honk to execute a left hand turn and two honks to turn right.


But like I said that was like 20 years ago

An applicant who has passed a Department of Public Safety approved basic motorcycle operator training course, and has an unrestricted (not an instructional permit) class A, B, or C license, can present a an MSB-8 completion certificate and receive a waiver of the road test.

I saw god on a 400cc motocross bike.

I was about 20 feet off the ground upside down and backwards going about 70.

how old are you and what kind of bike will you be buying? also, will you pay for it outright or finance it? these are all things that will factor into your insurance.... oh yeah, and do you have any tickets?

i have a harley, i'm 28.... full coverage 250 a year... if i had a 600cc sportbike i'd be paying 300 a month for full coverage.. depends on what you are going to get.. you can't fucking beat 57mpg!!!

i've been on a bike since i was 5.. in the city, won't lie.. dangerous as fuck.. no one cares about you... you have to be super defensive driver... but as long as you are mr super careful everything is cool.. nothing beats the wind in your face... plus, biking is still cool.. has been, will always be... i think even you can pull it off! haha.. jk...

Are you allowed to ride between the lanes here? In California, bikers can ride between the lanes, which they often do in bumper to bumper traffic. I hate that.

Can motorcycle riders "split" lanes and ride between other vehicles?

Lane splitting by motorcycles is permissible but must be done in a safe and prudent manner.

the cop i asked in texas said it wasn't legal here... when i was in cali i did at traffic lights mainly... i am super tempted here when there is a long line of standing cars, but i'm afraid of the cars in the line will be a cop!
