Allen Iverson is looking to wrap up the season with the scoring title (30 pts), 3rd in assists (7.9), and 2nd in steals (2.46 a game). If these numbers hold up, he will be the first in NBA history to finish a season in the top 5 of these catagories. Impressive. With The 76'ers in line to wrap up the 8th seed in the playoffs, as well as his incredible season, shouldn't he be a favorite for MVP?

He leads the league in shot attempts and turnovers. That helps to negate some of the other stats. He's still amazing, but that might be part of the reason. MVP is sort of a political award anyway. Typically the person that deserves it doesn't get it. I'm surprised Mark Stein has Duncan in the running, though I think he deserves consideration.

Nash is the media darling, Shaq is the protest vote. Since nobody else has a better combination of wins, stats, and durability, it's certainly hard to argue with anyone other than one of them.

I hope AI gets MVP, he deserves it more than anyone.

He's in the top 5 in 3 categories, and he is leading in scoring...and he dishes out a lot of assists to his team, the sixers....

I would rather AI get it than Shaq or Nash....but I still think Shaq will get it.

I agree. AI should win it at least once anyway. He's got a lot of heart to go with his numbers.

I would take Dirk Nowitzki over Nash, Shaq, or AI.
