Pie in the sky concerns aside, I'm not sure why it would make any sense for the Spurs to deal off their best assets now. It seems far more likely that the Spurs will take the expected roster into the regular season, play for a while and assess: (1) whether any additional tweaks are necessary; and (2) what those tweaks might be.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to deal off the assets for a big man (a fragile one at that) if it turns out that McDyess and Blair and Ratliff, along with Bonner and Mahinmi, can compete in the West and give Duncan sufficient buffer against the rigors of the season. Suppose that they got Camby now and it turned out that what they really needed was a wing, what then?

So you want to trade Mason/Bonner/Finley for Camby, but still have Mason and Finley on the roster?

How can you have Mason in the trade yet he's still in the rotation you listed? Fail.

That trade would fuck us over completely, we would have no bench.

Fail.

If we're going to trade for a big then as many other people have said Finley/Bonner for Foster is the best deal out there, if Indiana would do it that is.

The Spurs need cap flexibilty when Duncan retires. We do not need Jackson to screw things up.

this team will rock, it worth the money!
jackson has like 3 years left in his contract, and Duncan, Manu and Dise have like 3 years left in them so this deal will help the spurs to be more competitive in the next 3 years.
maybe this team that we have now are good enough, but it' not somthing sure, by adding Jackson the Spurs could only get better, when Jackson was a spur he wasn't an headache, i'm sure that by playing for a contender and by playing for Popovich Jackson will be restrain!
Basketball wise Jackson could help us alot, he give us another quality player, he give us great match up options, he is great for small ball 4(great defender against Dirk), also he will make Duncan, Manu, Dise minutes's very low and that could help their legs being fresh not only for the playoff, also for the years future!
