Iron Mexican -- I'm a big fan of those shows too, but that's why they invented TiVo and/or DVR. That way, you can record either one of 'em and be cool in the long run.
With the Angels' possible final home game and the Lakers at the Honda Center, the Southwest part of Orange County is going to be quite packed.

Where's the "tee hee"?
Man, it seems like yesterday that I was sitting at the Coliseum getting burned in the sun and watching the post-championship celebration. After getting flashed by a rather cute Latina girl, I'm not sure if I'm ready to welcome a new season unless it ends in the same situation. Though, I'd probably prefer it to be 2 Latina chicks flashing, it would be nice just to celebrate back-2-back.
Good thing Kleiza is no longer on the Nuggets...he would always seem to shine against us.

I'm not old, but I can use a goddamn nap. Meds on the other hand, I can do without. However, if it is the type that make you feel good--I'm down.
Last year, I managed to catch a Lakers vs. Nuggets regular season game and sat next to a handful of Nuggets' fans and they were really cool people. Huge Broncos fans as well and they were hoping both their football team and basketball team would do well. The Nuggets lost by our hands and well, the Broncos aren't off to a bad start.
I think Denver is back in place as a "darkhorse" team this year...

To be honest, I've probably never mentioned it. Don't like to get into TOO many Laker debates in the "Laker Forum" for fear of being gang-raped...it was simply a passing thought.
I never really liked how he disrupted the "flow" in Houston either. Throwing up random threes at inopportune moments, his awkward, relatively selfish drives through the lane, etc.

You guys are missing the point. Artest is like the fourth or fifth option on this team. Every other team he played on was a losing franchise. When were out the gates to like 20-1, then you'll see.
Good point.
I just wonder how long Artest will be satisfied as the 4th/5th option. He's saying all the right things, but I reckon it's just a matter of time until you spot his discontent by the sudden, ill-timed shot selection.
I'll give him this much. He doesn't wanna be labeled a coattail-rider. He's gonna be a part of it, whether you want him to be or not.
Again, though. I could be eatin my fair share a' crow sooner rather than later.

Did you forget about the time he was on an Eastern Conf. contender and costed Reggie a last chance at a ring? He was 4th, maybe 3rd option on that team.
Eminem
10-23-2009, 12:54 AM
You may call them a contender, but it was only 9 games into the season and they weren't winning shit that year anyways. Also, he was averaging 25 ppg that season, well ahead of everyone and having his best year by far.
Why weren't they? That was a pretty good Pacers team. Hell even nobble knees Jermaine O'neal was playing at a higher level than Gasol is now.

Not really. They have the team to compete but them being a low iq team is only part of why they won't beat LA. The Nuggets D can't and won't limit the Lakers offense. They are already fucked if they can't do that. You aren't going to beat the best offensive team in the league by out gunning them.

Melo is a nightmare match up for everyone.
Outside of games 1 and 2 in the WCF the Lakers have consistently shut down Melo. I expect more of the same once the season starts and the Lakers actually take these games seriously.
Phil was fielding joke lineups out there and Denver still got smashed. :rollin

He's a monster cover alrgiht but he was lighting up Ariza in the playoffs until Kobe slid over.
No one in league can matchup with Melo like the Lakers can. Historically he has struggled against Ron and the Lakers have the luxury of not being forced to put Kobe on him anymore.

Exactly.
That's why only Boston has a chance of beating LA because they at least are built for defense. Cle? Orl? Anyone in the West? Forget about it.
Spurs fans won't like it but they don't have the defense anymore to beat up on the Lakers. Not even close. They won't beat themselves but it becomes a series of offensive execution and the edge has to go to the team with more continuity, more talent, and a better system in LA.

When the team you root for is going to win over 55 games for the 3rd year in a row, it gets a bit stale until the Playoffs. There are huge games and then there are whatever games. I'd welcome some Lamar wants a 3some with Kim controversy.
It was much more interesting when the Lakers were fighting for a Playoff spot.
If you're right, it's gonna make for a boring fucking season.

The Spurs are also going to have an uneventful 55+ win season too; but at least you guys got some exciting new players to look forward to...especially with 2 Mavs games out of the way in the first 10 games.
And with Duncan as your leader, you're used to boring anti-controversial seasons. :lol

But, your eyes could recognize something at infrequent intervals watching Kwame, just a hint, a suggestion of something tangible, something really good. And then it would extinguish and be gone...only to crop up another time & place. I remember Mario Bennett having a similar bent.

Putting the basketball aspects aside, Jerry knew exactly what he was doing in going for Artest. He loves that Ron is a media hound. Dr. Buss in not just a basketball owner. He is a businessman and full well knows that it's entertainment too. Everytime Ron is on the news or TMZ... so also is the Laker logo.
