Mbenga had seven blocked shots, 8 points…Holds Nene to just 3 points... Lakers win…106-89…

Could Mbenga become the Lakers starting center & new force in the West? Considering that he has scored more points than Portland’s Oden did all of last season, an All-Star team with Mbenga is a real possibility!:ihit

In news of equal importance, former Spurs draft pick and long time Whottt avatar Romain Sato made Sportcenters Top 10 last night!

The fact is Mbenga scored totally 61 points last season, Oden scored 540 points.

He may be an ugly son of a bitch, but the man was BEASTING in the paint last night. The block on Martin (or Melo, i forget which) at the end of the first half was sick.

River Walk Man-Tell the truth & shame the devil….Oden averaged 1 point per game last year…AND we had daily threads about his latest injury update…DJ on the other hand is a durable, well conditioned athlete who shows up to play day in & day out…Mbenga will have a break out season & is currently challenging to be the starting center on the World Champion Lakers Team…

I don't believe Bynum would accept playin' behind The Congo.

He will easily accept his role behind the bench on street clothes after his glass knee blows away within the first few weeks of the season :cooldevil

No worries, he'll be back before the playoffs. Unlike Manu.

DJ Mbenga had 10 points and 12 rebounds for his first career double-double, and the Lakers' bench was a plentiful source of scoring for the second consecutive game, out-producing the Hornets' reserves, 46-40...

Always pointing out he may not be the prettiest guy out there is lame and boring.

He is a fucking basketball player and not a model.

Nice for him to play well!

The hornets bench scored 40

How much of that 40 came after the lead was 27 and the Lakers pulled their first and second stringers? Yeah, try to find fault with a blowout if it makes you feel comforted in the light of your own team's disturbingly shaky start...

I only watched maybe 5 minutes of the game or so, and literally, one of the only thoughts I had about it was, 'damn, Mbenga's looking good.'
