I carry my laptop to and from the office to complete work, but I grew tired of staring at a 14" screen at home. So I ended up looking for a good deal on a 20+ incher on newegg. One thing lead to another, and I ended up building a new rig :lol

My old PC was an Athlon XP 2500+ with 1GB of RAM with a Radeon 9600, so it's quite the upgrade.

Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93 Ghz OC'd to 3.4 Ghz (400Mhz x 8.5)
ASUS P5P43TD PRO Motherboard
GSKILL 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3 1600MHz RAM
WD 1 TB Caviar 32B Cache
Sapphire Radeon HD4850 512MB DDR3
LITE-ON 24X DVD-RW Super Allwrite
Logitech Wireless Desktop (Black)
Logitech X-540 5.1 Surround Speakers
COOLER Master eXtreme Power Plus 500W Power Supply
Zio Wireless G MIMO PCI Card
Antec Nine Hundred Mid Tower Case
ASUS VH236H Black 23" 2ms 20000:1 HDMI Widescreen 1080P LCD Monitor

I was able to get this for right around $1000 CDN. Some things were from Newegg, other from local computers shops downtown. Although I've probably replaced every component from my computers in the past, I've never started from scratch. It's a pretty rewarding experience.
