The fact that Bama is still ranked number 2 is beyond ridiculous.

Southern Cal at #4 is even dumber. When the #23 team upsets them though that'll surely change.

It's a fair assumption considering the fact they shouldn't be ranked.

Definitely agree that they don't belong there...but what pisses me of was when Bama won a game and Texas wasn't exactly impressive, Bama passes them. This week, Texas was phenomenal and Bama was horrible...Texas doesn't move. They'll probably pass them in the voters, but still..and 4-3 and ranked 22nd? You have got to be shitting me.

Yesterday was probably first Bama's bad game. Every other game, they looked impressive. Even in that ugly game vs VT, they looked impressive.

True...but they were one blocked kick from losing to an unranked team. The #2 team in the country shouldn't do that.

wow USC is really shaping up to be a likely candidate to win this thing

I think UT has a greater chance to lose another game than USC

Iowa is a potential buster and their SOS is crominant, the computers will love them if they stay undefeated.

An undefeated SEC team is a shoe-in, and the humans will keep 1-loss USC above an undefeated Iowa. One loss texas is fucked, especially since at this point a loss would put OSU in the drivers seat for the conference game.

True...but honestly, we knew that already. Texas had to win out to get there..nothing's changed.

You can't lose this late in the season. If someone does lose this late, it would almost be impossible to climb back into the top 2. Unless we have a 2007 year.

Yeah.
If UT does end up going to the title game by winning out, it still won't be as sweet as 2005 when the BCS worked to perfection. Theres a good chance of two or maybe even three undefeated teams at the end of this season.
I still cannot believe Boise fucking State though. Cinci and Iowa are okay, but Boise State? Ugh. I hope they get their asses kicked soon. TCU is legit, they impressed me with their manhandling of those mormons.

For every good year the BCS has, there's about 5 shitty ones.

:lol

don't worry, TCU will pass them after they beat Utah.
although, if Oregon beats USC, which is probably about 45% likely, and goes 11-1, that will look real good for BSU. TCU's schedule may be tougher week in, week out, but they won't have an elite win like that. BYU will end up as their highest quality win

That's just how the SEC is. A lot of parity and defense. LSU in '07 and Florida in '06 had a bunch of close calls against "mediocre" teams and represented themselves well in the championship games. The only case of a team blitzing through the SEC was last years Florida.

THis isn't like the Big 12 where everyone but OU/Texas blow and there's no defense whatsoever.

really? the conference that has a stranglehold on recruiting in the deep south is the best conference?

'ts good ta know
Maybe if your conference drew all its athletes from a single state (big12-texas) there would be more of a dropoff in talent from team to team.

The whole "Let's rank all SEC teams high every season no matter what"
is a relatively new phenomena. And with this awesome CBS contract with announcers that pimp the conference left and right to keep them ranked human-high, combined with coaches who are now bold enough to call BULL SHIT on your shitty officials giving important games to the top dawgs, I think this SEC overhypedness is actually helpful in our eventual quest to destroy the BCS and instill a playoff.

Yeah, those teams like Arkansas State, Iowa State, and Northern Iowa are real strong. And when you're barely beating most of them (Iowa State was the only comfortable win), that should factor in, too.

Scoffing me? Do some research bitch. Their SOS is going to be about sixth overall. And Iowa State being their comfortable win actually helps them, with the way they have been playing lately.

Show me a link where I'm wrong, fucker.
The computers don't lie. They're high for a reason.

All of this is inevitably shaping up for a UT/SEC winner showdown, as it should be. Iowa? Give me a break. Cincy would have been viable if their starting QB hadn't gone down. Let's just hope that UT/Bama/Fla keep winning so we can see the two best teams in the nation on the field for nat'l championship game. The rest are pretenders
