Against the Clippas?

Lakers have a very (ridiculously) home friendly season to start the season, expect 83 win ecstasy's from the media come December.

Out of what IMO are the only true contenders (Cavs, Celtics, Lakers and Spurs) the only team I see losing the opener is the Spurs.

Are you talking about the Clippers? Yes they will.

If you're talking about the Lakers then :lol Spurfan is kicking off their parade of wrong predictions early this year.

Cavs and Celtics play the opener against each other, one of those powerhouses is gettin an ass-kicking.

LA will lose the first game of the season

FAIL!

Actually...Boston and Cleveland play the first game of the season, so one of those 2 teams will lose the first game of the season.

It's easy to forget that there's another team in LA.

The only contender in the West is in Portland. You will realize that soon enough.

Blake Griffin may miss Clippers' opener (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Blake-Griffin-may-miss-Clippers-opener;_ylt=Aj88uHAgJbQ0iX62H3HNGym8vLYF?urn=nba,1 98208)

Right on Simmons' "Clippers Curse Comment" cue (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/part2/091023&sportCat=nba), rookie Blake Griffin may miss Tuesday's regular season opener after tweaking his knee in Friday's meaningless preseason game against the Hornets.

Griffin suffered the injury to his left knee after coming down off a massive dunk in the third quarter.

According to the L.A. Times (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2009/10/clipper-update-griffin-injured.html), Griffin did not practice Sunday and is expected to be examined by team doctors on Monday. And knowing the Clippers' questionable medical staff, he'll likely miss the entire 2009-10 regular season after a team doctor accidentally blinds the kid with his pen flashlight (http://www.ruby-electronics.com/productimages/LASPTR4-001.jpg).

Dunleavy heard that Bynum will be playing so he pulled Griffin to keep his confidence intact.

I agree.

And, I also predict that LA will win the first game of the season.

I predict that L.A. will both win and lose the first Western Conference game of the season.

L.A. is just THAT good.

Spurs aren't losing at home opening night.

The fans are going to be yelling and screaming like crazy, and Pop is putting the big boys in for longer stretches than 22 minutes. I see Spurs taking this game.

Oh man, if Griffin is out for the first game...that would be a huge disappointment. I wanted to see how he would stack up against regular season line-ups as opposed to feasting on the preseason. Hopefully he'll play, but overall I hope he is alright.

JamStone

The OP's execution was fine, and it worked at fooling at least 1 Laker fan poster despite the "technicality."

I'll make another prediction.

Bynum will be a back-up the entire season and will average fewer than 15 mpg.

I say the Clippers should relocate to change their curse. Either way, the title of the thread will be proven right. Both teams are Los Angeles, LA. Therefore, it is safe to confirm one of the teams will lose on opening night.
