Everyone seems to have forgotten about Roger Mason Jr. I know he was a no show in the playoffs but he was huge for us during the regular season.

With the addition of Richard Jefferson and manu being back his minutes will be cut, but i think he is still one of the top 3 clutch shooters on this team.

He's a nice role-player on this team now, where he ought to be. He'll quietly have a nice year.

He's been pretty forgetable this pre-season. Hopefully he finds a rhythm and gets his sharp shooting skills going.

Time to light his pilot light. Mason's AC was on during the pre-season.

He's been in a weird situation of trying to let the young guys show their stuff and the new guys get integrated.

Hes gonna have to figure out how he fits, and without the PG responsibilities I hope he goes back to just letting it fire from the 3 point line.

He was the least spoken about player this off-season.

This, last year was just an ackward year - Manu out 80% of the season, and Tony missing 20%, along with Pop not trusting out backup PG - Mace was asked to do more than he was brought on to do.

What excuse does he have for his piss poor defense which was going on before he switched to PG.

I really liked Mason Jr. up to a point when his defense was almost non existent from January, early February onwards.

He won't be on the court if he keeps getting lit up on the defensive end. You saw how badly he was used by Dallas in the playoffs. If his defense doesn't improve to be at least average you can't really have him on the court no matter how good of a shooter he is. Mason Jr. must play better defense.

Does anyone give a shit about defense??????????????

I hardly ever see anyone except Kori or Timvp mention Mason Jr's defense.

That is where he needs to improve a lot.

He is the best clutch 3pt shooter on this team. He proved that last year and despite his flaws he is the reason for that high seeding last year cause we all know how air tight the west was. Its not his fault they threw him in foreign waters. He will do his thing once more

He wasn't brought in for his defense, just like Bonner and Finley weren't. They're role players, not pivotal defensive players like Jefferson will be, or Bowen & Thomas were.

No he wasn't, but I'm pretty sure Pop said he thought he was a decent defender when he first got here.

Did you even watch the Mavs series last season or any Spurs games after January last season?

Mason Jr. was really bad on D and was a liability on that end of the court. I want to see Mason Jr. make defense a priority and improve on that end of the court. If he is a turnstile on defense like he was that series it might not matter how good of a shooter he is because he won't be getting much court time.
