sons what will be the Lebron nut-hugging media's excuse this year after he fails again? will they continue to use the "lack of help from his teammates" excuse despite the fact that he now has TWO All Stars on his team? (one being arguably the greatest Center to ever play the game) ... now of course Shaq's numbers have declined over the years, but he is still easily All Star material.
sons what will be the excuse for the King's failures!!!???

Well, they won't blame Daddy cuz that's strictly a "no-no." They may hint in that direction, but, they'll cover the hint with an immediate disclaimer.
& they can't blame that coach, wtf is his name?
& they can't blame that curly headed fool. wtf is his name? They just gave him all that money with absolutely no way to get it back now.
Blame Rocky Colavito.

lol, they lost one game. Their first game playing with 2 new starters. I understand the NBA hasn't been in Louisiana long, but in the NBA they play 82 games, and they don't really matter until April and May. I guess the Hornets never playing meaningful games in the spring could cloud your judgment

LMAO son you are a CLEVELAND sports fan ... you sure would know something about your teams playing meaningless games. the Cavs were irrelevant before Lebron and they will return to their irrelevant status whenever he leaves next year.

The excuse will simply be the truth. There are 3-5 teams that are just better than the Cavs that have more talent and simply should beat the Cavs out for a title. As an individual player who puts up 35/8/8, why does anyone need to make excuses for him?

I would but right now they're taking turns polishing off Kobe's junk.
mike brown gets fired...lebron leaves town.....shaq retires. The Cleveland franchise falls back into obscurity for the next 20 years

kobe bryant against the los angeles clippers: 33 points (11-26 fg, 11-12ft, 0-13pt), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, 1 block
lebron james against the boston celtics: 38 points(12-22fg, 10-13ft, 4-9 3pt), 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks
... Yeah. If the referees weren't sucking kobe's dick, per usual, his numbers would look even more shitty in comparison to lebron.

being within 7 of the Clippers is a loss in my book. Cavs lost to an elite team, Lakers were close to the Clips

It's called apathy...tends to happen when you play a team that's beneath you.

The Clippers are a good team this year, even without Blake. Lots of teams are going to lose to them this year.
My guess is they'll have a better record than 2-3 of the East Playoff teams.

Either you blame him for his team failing to win it, or you make an excuse for him failing to lead his team to the title. When you are dubbed as the best player in the league, on a title contender, you have to deliver.
exactly, which is why Kobe was slammed for not winning it in 2008. He was the MVP on a title contender and they didn't get it done. LBJ failed last year.

As long as LeBron keeps putting up those numbers, the Cavs won't win a championship.
Nothing has changed from last year. LeBron brings the ball up, dribbles the ball for about 10 seconds at the top of the key then attacks the nearest 3 defenders. Guys just standing around watching Lebron doin' work.
Works great on most scrub teams but not enough sharing of the load to beat the good teams.

Simple: Shaq is the one who's going to be blamed.
Not being any good as a "sidekick" or support. After failing in Phoenix, he's going to 'fail' in Cleveland. After Chapionships wuth Kobe and 1 with Wade, where he was a main player in both sentences of the word, he hasn't done anything good as a sidekick and that's what the media's conclusion will be.
That said, it's sad how Shaq can be a media darling on one moment, but a ton of weight when he joins media darlings such as the Phoenix Suns or LeBron James.

They're a title contender simply BECAUSE they have James. Kobe could have never said that throughout his career. The truly great ones all could. Duncan, Shaq(debatable because he always had a top 3 SG), LeBron.
If you're the MVP and your team has the best record in the league, anything less than a championship is failure. What do you not understand about that? Are you really trying to argue against that point?

Is the MVP really suppose to win a series with HCA?

Ummm... any idea WHY they had the best record in the league? Was it Anderson Varejao? Sasha Pavlovic? LOL Jesus, what is your IQ?
jesus christ almighty, you're dense. Arguing with you is like trying to tell a story to an Alzheimer's patient. Your thought process is so skewed that you may just be legally retarded. If that's the case, you need to be on 24-hour watch and have your diet changed to pureed foods. Whatever you do, I implore you to stop posting your nonsensical ramblings on this board. It'll be better for you, and the human race

I've been waiting for Spurstrodamus to come out of the Cavs closet for about a year now. I was happy to see Charles Barkley basically say that the Cavs have no chance.
They're slowly becoming the Atlanta Braves of the NBA. Win a bunch of games...fail in the Playoffs...repeat.

Logical conclusion is that Mike Brown gets fired, but these aren't the 2006 Heat. Danny Ferry can't slide down from the FO ala Pat Riley and take over the team.
For a team with LeBron and Shaq, you need a coach with a record of success, but who's out there?
Jeff Van Gundy- don't think Shaq works with any Van Gundy
Doug Collins
Hubie Brown
Mike Fratello
I don't see where they would go for a mid-season change.

LOL over on the Spurs board the dude is still castigating anyone who thinks getting rid of Taco Udrih was a good idea. Taco is now the last option off the bench for that wonderful Sacto franchise.

After beating the Cavs tonight, all of a sudden Toronto becomes an "elite" team, by that reasoning.
