Hi All,

Posted this in another LPB thread but didn't get any feedback. Anyone know how to get the plugin working on a PS3? I think you need the most recent Adobe Flash plugin because all I get is audio with a black screen through the PS3 browser. I have the latest system update for the PS3 and still no go. Did this work last year?

:(

I don't know about that, but I've used the PS3 to watch atdhe, and it runs fine if you only have that one window open. If you have more than that, it'll shut down the browser. I've also read online that you can't get Adobe Flash on the PS3 yet. Why don't you just hook up your laptop or desktop to the TV?

Now that I think about it, I was correct that you can't get adobe flash on it because I remember that I couldn't watch Hulu. They used to allow it but for some reason recently cut it out of the browser, I think this summer. Sorry man, search online to see if they'll be supporting Flash again soon. Again, just hook up ur laptop and it'll be good.

Ok, thanks for the reply. It just sucks because my tv only has one HDMI input so its a pain to disconnect the PS3 every time I want to connect my PC. My receiver is older and doesn't have an HDMI selector either.

Cheap manual switch (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011001&p_id=2786)

Better 4-way switch with remote (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011002&p_id=4088)

Actually Hulu used to work, the PS3 has flash.

But Hulu blocked PS3's a while ago from working online.

You should look into PlayOn - it has a plugin for LPB, and will stream it from your PC to your PS3/360.

LPB uses a Flash Plugin called Octoshape (http://www.octoshape.com) to distribute the video signal into a peer to peer network of viewers.
This plugin is not flash, but a native application. They seem to have Mac and Windows versions of it (Unix too? I don't know), but I doubt they have a Playstation version of it.

Anyways, that's the reason it wouldn't work.

That's true now that I think of it. I remember being prompted to install the Octoshape plugin on my laptop and thinking I hadn't heard of it before. Let's hope there's a ps3 version or that the unix version is compatible. Is the ps3 os based on bsd Linux?

I guess I'll look into PlayOn as well since the Ps3mediaserver (that I'm using to stream from my pc) doesn't support streaming from your pc's browser.
