View Full Version : While the loss sucks, at least Tim Duncan is back with a vengeance

It was a thing of beauty to see that vintage performance out of Tim.

28 points, 16 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.

We still have a long way to go this season, but just knowing Duncan is still capable of nights like these despite the knee brace is a little reassuring :toast

It was a great performance. I didn't expect him to look that sharp so soon. I think he's still a long way from his peak game shape, but damn he looked good tonight.

Yep. Hope he won't have to always push himself so hard like this in the regular season.

Duncan should be the last guy anybody ever doubts, as long as he's healthy..he's always the least of my concerns..he's still the best player on this team, and we're going as far we he can take us..it's great to see him looking so good in "his preseason" right now, especially defensively..

He was fantastic. Those bank shots were as good as they have ever been.

Would of been nice to see some off-ball movement off of him by the rest of the team.

Yeah, I loved seeing Timmy D play like he was 27 years old again. Let's hope he can keep it up. :toast

I was thrilled to see Tim perform so well, and was very glad that we lost.

After that opening game blow-out, some humility and reality was needed.
For example, the Hornets might kick some butt this year.
And our bench may not be invincible.

With tonight's loss, our coaching staff regains control of the team and that's a very good thing.

Game 2. It's all about game 82 with Duncan. He was great to start last season and by the time the real season started his body was failing him. I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see it happen again this year.

I don't know

He always seems to have his best games these last few years whenever everyone else is playing like shit and we inevitably lose.

I hate when he dominates and we lose. Hate it.

I'm glad Duncan can still play at a high level offensively.
It's undeniable though that he can't elevate as much anymore, and he REALLY needs help from a true rebounder out there next to him.

I also really wanted Pop to sit him after 20 minutes or so. There's no need to tax him right now.

That bank shot is a thing of beauty. Too bad that it's not cool enough for any young player to emulate.

Like Barry's underhand free throws and Kareem's Sky Hook, that bank shot retires with Tim.

After the first couple I counted, and he hit 7-8 bankers yesterday. Awesome.

Tim was on fire. When I saw him jab stepping on Noah from the perimeter, I knew he was going to hit that bankshot.
