i thought the same thing, but when i actually had it, it was good.

its definitely best with food like pizza, chips, burgers, bbq, etc...

the mesquite aftertaste is way too strong. It starts out nice, then turns bad fast imo. A good smoke beer doesn't overwhelm you like that. It may be better with food, but I don'r really care to try it again. It probably would have worked better with a maltier beer like a Porter, or maybe a less pungent wood to smoke the malt with.

They smoke the malted barley with mesquite (in this case) before mashing/boiling the grains to start brewing.
