i thought the same thing, but when i actually had it, it was good.

its definitely best with food like pizza, chips, burgers, bbq, etc...

hmmm. i think i'll to see if a friend has some so i can snag one, but i'm not buying a 6 of this. what...is it basically liquid smoke added to beer?

the mesquite aftertaste is way too strong. It starts out nice, then turns bad fast imo. A good smoke beer doesn't overwhelm you like that. It may be better with food, but I don'r really care to try it again. It probably would have worked better with a maltier beer like a Porter, or maybe a less pungent wood to smoke the malt with.

They smoke the malted barley with mesquite (in this case) before mashing/boiling the grains to start brewing.
