View Full Version : How many NBA games have you attended in person?

I hope that damn poll feature works...

Myself just 3 games. I pretty much find I enjoy watching the games on TV rather than the hustle of getting to an arena, fighting crowds, then fighting to get out.

edit: WTF, do I just suck or are polls broken or disabled in a broken manner? I can easily create polls with options using the same engine as this one on other sites...

A ton. 100+. Season tix growing up.

Maybe only 6 or 7 in the past decade though.

I don't enjoy the live NBA experience very much. If you're really close, it's cool, but otherwise it's just a big schlep.

Maybe 6 or 7. I went to a couple at Hemi (first was a Spurs/Rockets matchup), and several at the Dome (my friend would get free tickets at least once a year when they opened the upper deck). Never been to the barn for a spurs game.

I've always been in the nosebleeds, but it's always been fun!

20-40? Unless the game is an event(playoffs), I think the arena experience is overrated.

I sure loved going to a game for birthday presents when I was a kid though!

Playoffs are worth going to though, definitely!

Being in the Arena for the Horry hip check, memorial day miracle, game 1 of spurs/cavs, game 6 vs the mavs in 2005(Steve Kerr for 3!)? Stuff like that is definitely worth seeing live. It was fun seeing Nuggets playoff games in the comcast suite too.:king Even if it wasn't the spurs.

A lot. I used to travel alot for business.

When I was staying in an NBA city, I'd go watch a game because there really wasn't much else to do other than dinner and hookers.

I've seen the Suns and Spurs play 3 times, one of which was Game 5 of the 2007 Semi-Finals, the game where Amare and Diaw were out because of suspensions. Definitely the most exciting game I've ever witnessed, as well as one of the most heart-breaking endings.

I've also seen Suns-Pistons, Suns-Mavericks (twice), Suns-Sixers, Suns-Jazz, and one other that I can't recall at the moment.

I went to see a few Suns games as a kid, but I don't really have any memories of those.

I was at that game too. Heartbreaking as it was, the old people sitting behind me who got mad every time I stood up or showed any sort of emotional involvement with the team did a good job giving me something else to be pissed off about.

pauls, Kori disabled polls. It's not just you who can't make them.

Perhaps they can update it to not make the option visible... I guess the poll rigging did it. Was it because of the poll that Ghazi or whoever and a million trolls jumped on last year? I forgot what it was but someone obviously made a serious effort to f'up one.

With around four minutes left I had enough and I said, "If you think I'm not allowed to stand up or make noise at a basketball game, call security, otherwise, shut up and leave me alone."

I should have known this would happen given how the Suns organization does whatever it can to keep the old fans happy knowing the young fans support the team no matter what, a security guard told me to keep the standing to a minimum because I was blocking their view.

I have attended 31 Spurs games. Just got my first pair of season tickets this year, so my number will increase at the end of the year.

My record has been pretty impressive at the games I have attended. So far the Spurs' record is 29-2 at games that I attend. Hopefully since I will be attending quite a few more games this season, my luck will carry over. :toast

Probably around 30-35 over the course of my lifetime. Most exciting game? Watching the Ro Blackman/Mark Aguirre Mavs rally from a 10 point deficit with around 3 minutes to play to the Rainbow Jersey Denver Nuggets when I was 10 years old at the old Reunion Arena.

How long ago was that? This is Reunion today:

Only time I got to see the Mavs away from Dallas was the 99-00 season in San Antonio. I went to college at UT-Austin and the Alamodome is about an hour and a half drive from campus. I think this is the game:

Been to about 15 myself. Most of then came with corporate box seats and parking passes.

I'd agree with most of the posters here, unless it's a PO game or unless you're close to the action, it's really overrated. You might as well stay home and enjoy the superior view you get with the network cameras.

Been to four games myself. The first 3 were Mavs Vs. Rockets throughout my child hood. Was really intential to go to all Rocket games, it just kinda happened.
Then after about 5 years of not going to any games, I went to a PO game 2 years back against NO, the only one that they won.

I got tickets to the Nov. 18 Mavs vs. Spurs game. Can't wait for that.

Actually yes. :lol

You're on a 2-3 day business trip in some butt-fuck city you've never been before. You have no friends there, don't know anything about the place. You have a hotel room.

What do you do with $120 of "per diem" travel money:

1) Grab a twelve pack or a bottle of whiskey and watch rent a porn on the hotel tv
2) Grab a book and read it in your hotel
3) Go eat dinner
4) Sit at the hotel bar and hope to meet up with some hot lonely chick (movies are full of shit, this almost never happens)
5) Go watch an NBA game and buy a $10 hot dog and $5 coke
6) Get a hooker

i'm not sure but if i had to guess it would be around 100 or so. i usually only attend 1 regular season game a yr + playoffs and finals but recently as of last yr i have been buying into the cheap seats to attend more games instead of saving up for "special" games only. last yr i went to like 30 games.

First game was Chi/Wash in 92'. Jordan dropped in 51 points. We sat close enough to the Bulls bench that you could hear Robin Ficker laying into all the Bulls, especially Jordan.

Overall I've been to around 30 games in Washington, Atlanta, and Oakland.

500 games aren't played in a 5 season span though, so don't know where mavsluva is getting that from...even if he somehow flew to every mavs game, there's still only 416 games, not including playoffs lol

I've probably been to between 15 and 20 games, but i'm still young.

Most memorable of those games was the game 6 against the Nets in 2003 where the Spurs won the championship.

Roughly 80.

My 1st game ever was a Bulls/nuggets exhibition in 92 I believe. Jordan was there. It was in the Superdome.

My 1st Hornets game was in 03 vs. the Hawks when we had Baron, Mash, David Wesley, and Maggs.

Best ever was Hornets comming back from 22 pts. down to beat Boston in the 07-08 season. Bonzi had like 7 4th quarter steals. That along w/ the Hornets beating the Spurs at home last year in the game Paul broke the steals record, and the MLK day game v.s the pacers last year when paul won the game from 27 ft. at the buzzer. I went to another buzzer beating game in 06 when Dwest hit a buzzer-beater vs. the Wiz. Only 0.6 seconds was on the clock when he quickly caught and made that. Pretty unreal!

My streak last year was pretty unreal as well; The Hornets won the 1st 14 games I attended last year.
