View Full Version : i think we're a little overrated

I think our team's start is a little overrated, i watched orlando play, and man they play some awesome ball and they have room to improve defensively.
I don't want to jinx the celts, but i goota give props to orlando, i think they are the best team in the league if they play with concentration and without making dumb plays they are as much as a contender as any. Talent wise, they are the best team i've seen in a long long time (better then celts in 08, better then the san anton teams and i think they would compete with shaq'n'kobe).
Anyways i enjoy watching the league these years, not like 8-9 years ago. Wade is in for another one man show, the celts and magic are going for a nailbiter in the ecf. i think la will not reach the nba finals .. it's just a hunch.
I hope that our players are not blinded by the great start we have. +22 will not remain for very long and i hope it will not be taken for granted.

Rondo & Perkins transcend your team. & Rivers is well aware of it.

I don't think its any jinx that's gonna throw your celtics out of whack its more likely going to be one of the big 3 going down with injury. Or big 4 now w/ Wallace.
I think your right to be concerned however. The intensity that the celtics are playing at right now could become a factor later in the season. If they can maintain this pace all the way through the season without injury or missing a beat I'll be surprised. If they manage that, they are going to be vulnerable to a younger team with fresher legs come playoffs.

that's a brilliant argument.:downspin:.

very true, i hope doc plays them at most 30mins a night.
And @the other non idiotic comment, i love kperk, if rondo would get a j and learn how to shut his mouth those would be 55 well invested millions.

Rondo is your richest talent. The j is imminent, he's a driven individual. His game is throwback, old school, though his mind fights it. Once he evolves from boy to man he'll be complete, like a pie.

rondo is ok. Just needs to be less of a douche. Less chess bumping and barking and we civilized celts fans would be very pleased.
but to give a direct answer: this season he will average a triple double, be an allstar, win finals mvp and the first dpoy for a pg since payton and make passes only with one hand to show nash how it's done .. hopefully i didn' miss a bit of his future greatness. :drunk

If Boston stays healthy they're the team to beat. They match up really well with both Orlando and the Lake Show.

They match up with everybody. Perkins is on auto pilot and is probably certifiable. Pierce & Allen aren't afraid. KG is afraid, but Pierce & Allen, remember, aren't. Nobody can account for Rondo so they just hope. The kid from Dallas (name escapes me) looks real comfortable there. Wallace is a Lakers killer. He won't go down into the paint cept Vs. us. & Rivers has an edge to him. He's not an apologist in the Van Gundy sense. And that edge permeates the team.

That guy can raise my blood pressure by just looking at him.

While I hate the Cavs, wtf is wrong with you? Cavs match up pretty damn well with the Celts. So we won at the Q. BFD. Cavs are due to get a game in Boston.

Cavaliers match up okay with Boston, but I need to see what happens with Delonte before I start throwing them in with the elite. Without Delonte our perimeter D goes right down the toilet. And Rasheed coming off the bench is a problem. Opening night we were putting Z on Rasheed and that match-up just doesn't work.

It wasn't a brilliant argument, But then again...neither was your "Hunch." Which provides no evidence whatsoever

Man, civilized celts fans went through some tough times in the past, with guys like Bird, Sam Jones, Ainge and Cornbread dressing in green.

Huh? The Cavs match up better than most teams with Boston because they're good. But teams with good low post defenders (Perkins, Sheed), jump-shooting bigs (Garnett, Sheed), good help defence and quick to close out is a tough matchup for them. Boston matches up pretty well with the Cavs as they're presently constructed.
Now, if they decide to play LeBron at the 4, that would be interesting. I've no idea what could happen in that case.

The Celtics have ZERO chance of beating us. Your team is made up of old ass players who will inevitably get injured. The cripple Garnett has no chance of hanging with the youth and athleticism of A.V. and myself. The inside/outside dominance with Z and Shaq will be too much to handle for that ugly motherfucker you have playing center. And The King will singlehandedly shit down your throats. Your reign at the top was short lives Celtics fans. Welcome back to being irrelevant for the next 20 years. The Cavs dynasty starts now.

If the Cavs expunge the Celtics in the '10 playoffs I'll leave this Forum immediately, never to return in any way, shape, manner or formPERIOD

I really don't mind trash talking myself. It's the whining and incredulous "what, me foul?!?" faces I can't stand.
