Free beer with every 'bat-free' Spurs win
By J.E. Skeets
This is bloody brilliant.
(Yes, that was vampire joke.)
In an effort to bring peace between San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili(notes), the southern U.S. bat population and, presumably, those crazy kooks at PETA, one creative San Antonio-based brewery is offering free beer for the people.
Yep, you heard me, free beer!
The Freetail Brewing Company says every time the Spurs win a game, and no Mexican Free-tailed Bats are caught by that Ozzy Osbourne-wannabee pictured right, everyone at the brewery will receive a free pint of lager. In addition, the brewery will donate $1 on thepatron's behalf to Bat Conservation International.
Ginobilo punked a bat that got loose inside the AT&T Center on Halloween night, delaying the Spurs' game against the Kings. Once down for the count, Manu picked up the bat and handed it to an usher as the crowd gave him a standing ovation. Something tells me they won't be so kind with free beer on the line.
I can't believe the Utah Flash didn't think of this first.
Cheers, WOAI and Dime.
