I feel spurs will lose to portland tonight...
on the tail end of a back to back, and dick jefferson can't play any better than he already has and Duncan's old and tired...
plus portlands hungry and long overdue a win against a west elite.

Why? Is it really so far fetched to think the Spurs could lose today?

The game has not even been played yet. All this bullshit about losing is quite negative at this point. Imagine a Lakers fan telling you, hey the Lakers are going to lose today. How would you feel?

That he has reasons why he thinks the team he roots for will lose? ie back to back, recent shitty play, inguries etc

I thought Collins was gonna shit himself last night when Jefferson woke up for about 10 mins; made some drives & 2 finishes! Collins actually got giddy. But, then Utah put the stopper in the bottle and first Dick, and then Collins returned to their respective mortician cadence. What a Thursday nite.

The Spurs played like crap vs Utah, I look for a much more competitive game W or L.

Plus beating this Portland does not mean anything.

If you look at the box score the game vs Utah was basically lost in the 1st quarter, all other quarters were competitive though it didn't seem like it at all.
San Antonio (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/sas) 20 30 30 19 - 99
Utah (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/uth) 32 28 33 20 - 113 Final

I doubt it, the Blazers are very vulnerable right now.

There isnt 30 minutes available behind Matt Bonner.... who has to play at least 25 for the Spurs to win a championship...
Apparently.

I'd like to see Blair get 30 min and break Oden.
Or the other way around.

When Matt Bonner plays 40+ and takes 10 threes a games, good things happen, It's not his fault pops only plays him < 40.

http://admin.accuscore.com/iframes/images/pc_acc_logo.gif (http://accuscore.com/) Spurs gonna lose by .3 points. It's in hodge podge form, Spurs fellows, but, read it & then weep. The return of T is imminent. God Bless the commonwealth of Oregon.

That seals it, eh?
We're probably going to play like shit the first 10-20 games with all of these newcomers getting acclimated.
Having 4 days off with all these new players hurts us. I'm not the least bit surprised that we're 2-2 right now. I'll only be worried if Popp continues to be a stubborn asshole and play lineups that don't make any sense, like he did last night.

Yes. It should.
Tonight the Spurs will either win by 1 or lose by 20.

Yeah..but the thing about Utah was that they were pissed last night after blowing 2 fourth quarter leads. Now, it's the Spurs who were embarrassed...I see a win coming tonight.

Unfortunately I see it as well. The Blazers just aren't tough. They're like the early decade Kings/funky & junky: Bibby/Roy----Predrag/close your eyes & grab---Miller/Oden---Hedo/close your eyes again & grab.
It's a vintage San Antonio moment. It'll tip, they'll kick the Blazers hard in the ass,,,the Blazers will acknowledge that it ain't the Lakers doing the ass kicking and they'll mail it in.

If the Spurs bring the same energy as they did last night versus Utah, then I expect them to lose barring the energy of Portland is worse.

Portland is going to come straight at us tonight. They beat us 2-1 last year, and they smell blood. We have GOT to come out with energy, and we have GOT to play defense. We can't do that, we're fucked tonight.
Plus, we need Big Dick Jeff to explode tonight.
(Wow...I didn't realize how gross that would sound until I typed it.)

Spurs are going to come out on fire tonight, I expect Portland to be down by double digits before the end of the first quarter.
Despite our hot streak cooling down throughout the game, the spurs will come out on top with a comfortable lead.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Jefferson did all his exploding for the Nets.

Did you not read what I wrote before that? This new roster not playing significant time together is going to look like shit, just like it did last night.

All your new shit is old shit with the exception of the Blair kid. He does look like he belongs though. He's too short (like Boozer) and he'll make you sorry (like Boozer constantly does) if you put too many eggs in his basket (like they do Boozer), but, if he's used properly (like Boozer ain't) he'll impact (like Boozer doesn't).
