Anyone know any information on this yet? My initial reaction was that it was nothing serious considering he was able to walk off the court, but sometimes looks are deceiving. Tony has not had any really bad injuries yet in his career as a Spur, so maybe he's due (hopefully not). :(

The one player who played for their NT this summer is the first player to get injured.

Fluke?

the cruel irony is, bonner or finley will NEVER get injured and thus will continue to play on for eternity

Too much NT paranoia. Manu played several summers and never got injured. It's just bad luck to me.

Tony Parker suffered a sprained ankle in the first half and is not expected to play in the second half.

It's not just tonight's injury. Tony's looked like he had shit in the tank so far this season thanks to playing worthless fucking international ball.

I don't know, but I like the defense since Tony left. Tony needs to refocus on the defensive end.

Last year was a lot of back and forth, giving up a bucket, then schooling the other team to the whole...

This year Tony has yet to crank it up on the offensive end, might as well bring it on D. I like Hill's effort tonight, in forcing some tough possessions for Portland.

Tony's offense isn't there, that's a fact. However, I wouldn't single him out for bad defense. Things have picked up defensively in the second half but its been a combination of factors, not just him leaving.

Things actually started to pick up when Hill started to get burn in the 2nd quarter.

This could be a blessing in disguise. Look at the timing. This type of overuse-type injury could have happened later, but either way it would have happened. A sprained ankle is something that takes weeks, not months (usually -- unless you're Ian) to heal.

So given the timing of this injury, after two straight losses and some early complacency and rest due to the schedule...this team will be forced to come together and guys will be tested and have to step up if TP is out for a couple weeks. We need to make this injury a rallying cry for this very talented team to come together and hold things up until TP makes his return after a well-deserved (and needed now) rest.

Sad thing to see an injury but if it is minor like a sprain, we might as well get it out of the way early while we have time to kick everyones ass into gear liek they need to be.

I hope its nothing serious...it didn't look too bad just rolled it, but you never know. We need Tony. But also maybe this will make our other guys play harder since he's not there and pick up the slack. Hopefully it'll just be a day-to-day injury but probably not.:depressed

I'm not exactly sure how yet but I'm sure this is Finley's fault. Everything else is.

Well,George Hill looks better when Tony is out like last year. But the main reason it´s only because he plays more minutes. But we can play with 2 point guards and we have a lot of forwards-guards.

IMO it could be good if TP plays around 5 minutes less per game until February or March. It will be good for Tony to be fresh in April and it will be good for Hill.

And the same for TD-Blair.

Hill sucks. He'll never run any offense, last year was a freakin' fluke when Tony went out w/ injury, so he's probably just going to get worse. IUPUI (ooey-puey) ya right... small time school wtf are they thinking??

Tony should play ASAP and risk furthur injury.... we'll lose games in the standings w/ Hill turning the ball over again and again..

What worries me more is who will backup hill? Mason? That was a huge mistake last year playing mason pg.

Well, if Tony is out for a few games maybe Hill AND Hairston will get a chance to show something.

That's actually funny :lol

I looked it up.

Ironman Finley has only missed 6 games and he's in his 5th year with the Spurs.

Reliable Red Rocket over the last 2 years has not missed any games due to injury; they're all DNP-CD's.

Put me in Coach!

Agree! Let Tony sit out a few games or weeks which should be good for him to rest a little more. While we are waiting for him to come back, Pop should use Hairston in the rotation. And Hill will gain more experience in the games.

Are you all serious? Come on, don't keep blaming international ball. It could happen to anyone. You probably just have something against international basketball, fine, but don't blame this on that. This happened in a NBA game, before that, he was fine. Shit happens

I'd say good timing if anything....we don't need it late in the season and he's a vet who knows the system picking up where he left off. Now's some good real game experience for these other guys who had less minutes...fuck it!! This is where you take it old school middle school style get your time out there and play your heart out showing you want more minutes and permanent position in the rotation! You got to prove it to get it.....soooo let's see!
