Want to see more of that in the coming games. When you look at the game, Spurs won the last three quarters. The team just started slow and that's to be expected in a back-to-back. Still, POP is coaching like a retard out there

I am encouraged by the way RJ responded after an early benching from Pop...he seemed to play with a fire and intensity when he was re-inserted and that lasted the whole game.

He was aggressive on offense and active on defense. His response has to be one of the few silver linings in this game and I hope he carries this through to the future.

I think the dunk was just icing on the cake...but it was some unbelievable icing!

We made a push without the guy in your avatar to help out, got to take something away from that. Defense was solid in the latter half, when it really needs to tighten up and we got turnovers and rebounds. The losing sucks, but we played better the second night on a back-to-back. Hopefully this trend of improvement continues.

He played VERY well after his struggles early in the first quarter. I saw very few defensive lapses from the team as a whole down the stretch. In fact, the only ones I saw were the Manu gambles that didn't pay off and left his teammates stranded.

Hey, I know why others may be encouraged. Me personally, I could give two sh*ts about those things, at least right now. I understand you have to evaluate in chunks of games, not individual games. But the fan side of me is bothered by some of these unknown variables popping up.

There have been moments in every single game that are good. That is because they are a good team.

Not in the Chicago or Utah game there weren't, but in the others, yes. Pop does worry me at times, but the decision to play Bogans more overall did payoff...he just pulled the chord to early. Still very early and guys honestly are finding their way. If they begin to put defense at the forefront, especially on the boards, again we may very well have something

The first 6 minutes of the Utah game were good. That was a silver lining in that game. The Bulls FG% was good from a defensive standpoint, that was a silver lining there.

You can find them in every game if you look hard enough.

Perhaps, but in that Utah game that's a very small silver lining compared to what they were able to establish the rest of the game. I just think in this game for a good stretch we put more positives together on whole and gave more of a complete effort down the stretch. Had a few rays developing.

Surely. I was pleased with many things that I saw. I am just not happy about things overall.

As I have said before, I was fully prepared for a rocky start. I knew it would take time to gel. I knew the schedule was tough to start. What I thought would instantly be better was the energy level. Last year I came up with excuse after excuse on why when the Spurs would lose, they would be embarrassed. I blamed it on injuries, age, talent...if there was an excuse I tried to apply that to it.

When the Spurs brought in RJ, Hill, Blair, McDyess, Bogans and the rest, I thought that long gone were the days of low energy blowouts. Now that they have happened 3 out of the 5 games, I don't have an excuse for that.

That is what has caught me off guard the most. I don't mind the W/L. I mind the way they are losing.

Pop needs to start Dice or Blair and bench Bonner to have a good start and pump the energy level of the team. Problem is pop, When is he going to realize that starting Bonner is a waste of time?

good to see RJ so intense and angry. He saw Manu get blocked 2-4 times by Greg Oden and decided that layups from 6 inches off the ground weren't going to cut it.

Ouch! As sweet a dunk as any Spur player has thrown down in about 5 years. I honestly started to think that RJ no longer had the hops to execute a dunk like that. He's looked a little "heavy legged" around the rim in these first few games.

It happened so quickly and was so unexpected. It was also the perfect way to neutralize a shotblocking fiend like Oden because there's no way he can get off the ground as quickly to challenge the dunk.

A play like that can usually ignite a team (i.e. Malik Rose's facial on Dikembe Mutombo in the 2003 NBA Finals). I only wished that play could've "spurred" the team to a victory.

Still it was goddamn sweet, that's for sure. I hope to see more of this out-and-out aggression from RJ.

RJ is officially the best dunker I've seen wearing the silver and black. But keep in mind I've only been a fan since '06, so I did not see DRob (except for the Finals wins and youtube clips) play. Big Dave was a very prolific dunker during this time. He was the absolute king of the two-handed, tomahawk flush. If teams kept such a stat, I'm sure Big Dave would be the club's all-time leader in dunks. :lol

I don't know if even Sean Elliott ever managed to serve up such a vicious facial against a shotblocker like Oden. Many times, I saw Sean elevate unexpectedly and attempt to go "top shelf" on a bigman and he usually got fouled, lost the ball, missed the dunk or all three. I'm sure he pulled off such a feat in his day, I just can't remember.

Still that RJ dunk was the best and nastiest I've seen since the Malik facial on Mt. Mutombo.
