Kobe is already the undisputed player of the 2000's decade(4 rings, 6 Finals, 4-1 gainst TD in the playoffs, etc.).

So the question must be asked, can he repeat this feat for the 10's?? LA is posed to win 3-6 titles with the current team, and Kobe is even better than before. The Prince may have something to say about this, but turthfully, he's not on Kobe's level yet.

Can Kobe become the only player in history to dominate TWO decades?

I think the question is whether he wants to play through the 2020s and dominate three decades...

I'm an unbiased NBA fan, but the forum signup forced me to choose a team. In reality though, I don't play favorites.

It's certainly possible.

Right now he shares 1C to Duncan/Shaq (1A, 1B).

But if Kobe went on to win 7-8 rings total, he would be the undisputed 2000's player because people would view his body of work.

With 3 rings in the 2010-2020 era, he would need another guy to come up with 4 to beat him out...which is highly unlikely.

If Kobe can play at a high level the next 5 years and win a few more rings, he'll probably be player of 2 decades.

Kareem did it, he was a Laker, I don't see why not.

Kareem's best years in the '70s were spent in Milwaukee. The Lakers teams he played with in that decade were hot garbage.

Some numbers of note in the West this week:

• 98: Kobe Bryant's 41 points Wednesday night at Houston in the Lakers' 103-102 overtime victory marked his 98th career 40-point game. Kobe is third all-time behind No. 2 Michael Jordan's 173 40-point games and runaway leader Wilt Chamberlain's 271.

The real shame is putting an innocent man in jail.

" Trina McKay, the resort's night auditor, said she didn’t look upset when she came back from Bryant's room, and didn’t believe Faber was telling the truth.

In her letter to Gerry Sandberg, Faber would apologize for "mix-ups" in her initial statement to police"

Kobe probably has around a good 6 year window left in terms of his current talents to dominate, so imo no, after that his game will probably be on the decline naturally. IMO it's Kobe, Duncan, Shaq as the best players of the 2000's.

Just a hunch but I would say LeBron will probably dominate the 2010's, of course he needs to get on a team more talented then Cleveland. MJ, Kobe all had solid supporting casts to win their rings.

Everybody knows that Shaq and Kobe were Alpha-males on the same team.

Lakers decided to keep Kobe and jettison Shaq. Shaq's been traded twice in his career, Kobe's still with the same team since his rookie season. This in itself is very telling.

Since Kobe got his 4th "sans Daddy"; he's answered the doubters.

Now he's working on his legacy as compared to Michael...we'll know in 5 years.

I'm not even sure if Kobe was the best player in the league for a single season during his career. First it was Shaq, then it was Duncan, then LeBron and Garnett and Wade during their career years.

Kobe was a top-talent, but that was still Shaq's team during the three-peat...1 MVP and 3 Finals MVPs to Kobe's 0 and 0 proves that. From 2005-2007 Lakers were trash, Kobe demanded trades, and quit on his team in Game 7s.

2000-2002 I give to Shaq, 2008-2010 I give to Kobe...2003-2007 was Duncan.

Pippen wasn't All-NBA 1st team nearly every year like Kobe. You analogy is pretty off.

When it come to All-NBA/All-D 1st teams, it's basically Kobe & TD on one tier above everyone else for the decade. The tiebreaker is how Kobe has outperformed Duncan in the playoffs. Let's be real, you act like Kobe didn't go into SA and dunk allover the Twin Towers and destroy you guys in 01'. You act like Kobe didn't drop 3 10+ 4th quarters in 02' to beat the Spurs. You act like he didn't fly in from Colorado to drop 40+ on SA and lead LA over them in 04'. You act like he wasn't "doin work" on SA in 08' to prevent TD once again from repeating.

Who cares? They're just being nice and Kobe would be unable to say such a thing. Deep down, you know that LBD is much better than Kobe right now and with supporting casts changed, Kobe would probably be left out of the playoffs and LBJ would cruise for the title.

There's 450 players in the NBA that they could be nice to but Dwade and Lebron both picked Kobe.

In 2008 I think it was a draw. In 2009 (prior to the ECF meltdown) I thought it was LeBron.

But right now, Kobe is the best player.

Kobe, without his 2 best players in Pau and Bynum, is leading the NBA in steals and scoring yet his team is still 5-1. There's only 1 team with a better record than the injured Lakers and that's a fully healthy Celtics team.

They know it's important for Kobe and they were teammates in team USA.

They're winning a lot of close games and having an easy schedule. Their Pythagorean record is not that good and that's the best metric for future success. Believe me, it will even out.

ps - unlike the conventional wisdom states, good teams don't win a lot more of close games than bad teams. Close games are mostly decided by luck and that's why most NBA teams, from the best to the worst, historically have similar records in close games. What differentiates good teams is their ability to have blow-out games.

I mean c'mon "mix-ups"?

A fellow worker saying she looked perfectly fine after leaving Kobe's room?

Having man juice from 4 different guys in her from the last 3 days?

Going up to Kobe's room at night for an autograph? And then later changing her story?

And then all of a sudden declining to testify when the contradicting evidence came up?

1. That certainly isn't uncommon in that type of situation and so I'm not sure what exactly that is supposed to prove.
2. And another worker said she was crying.
3. That she was sexually active before the rape is irrelevant. And her actions after would once again fall into the category of not being all that uncommon. Women can react very different than your preconceived notion of how they "should" act.
4. I can't be bothered to re look it up, but I don't even recall that ever happening.
5. Yes, what a shocker that after Kobe's professional slander team was done with her she choose to decline to testify for a DA that couldn't/didn't protect her.

And just to remind you your boy not only lied to the police, but he also practically admitted guilt as part of his settlement in the civil case. I can't say I have seen to many payoffs to the accuser that included that little extra.

Man, with all due respect, and I meant no offence, you're unbelievably dense or such a homer you just aren't able to discuss basketball. The C's were pounding teams last season? No, they weren't. They're getting lots of close wins, especially early in the season. That's why their 27-2 record wasn't sustainable.

Look, this isn't some wild guess. It's historical data. You put together the teams that won +60 games in the entire history of the league and they won less than 60% of their close games. Teams with less than 25 wins, won more than 40% of their close games. In not-so-good and not-so-bad teams, the difference is even smaller. More, the best prediction of playoffs success is point differential, not the W/L record - exactly because close games are mostly a matter of luck.

Of course, it isn't a perfect predictor - in that case, they wouldn't have to play the playoffs.

And LOL at you constantly forgetting to mention Garnett's injury. That was, by far, the biggest single contribution for the Lakers' title.

Please, read, for example, Dean Oliver's Basketball on Paper - it's a great book to give yourself a little education about basketball.

Discuss

I think you're about to become the only troll to get dominated in BOTH holes.

1. That certainly isn't uncommon in that type of situation and so I'm not sure what exactly that is supposed to prove.

She was psychotic and taking drugs. She suffers from schizophrenia.

2. And another worker said she was crying.

Who was this other worker?

3. That she was sexually active before the rape is irrelevant. And her actions after would once again fall into the category of not being all that uncommon. Women can react very different than your preconceived notion of how they "should" act.

She has schizophrenia. How do we know one of the 3 other men weren't really the ones?

5. Yes, what a shocker that after Kobe's professional slander team was done with her she choose to decline to testify for a DA that couldn't/didn't protect her.

Because it became known that she was looney. As soon as it became known that she was crazy, she dropped out.

"There days after the alleged rape Katelyn bragged about the incident to friends at a party. According to reports,

Katelyn was taking an anti-psychotic drug for the treatment of schizophrenia at the time of the incident.

n fact, she was hospitalized as a "danger to herself" four months before the alleged sexual assault. Lindsey McKinney, who lived with the accuser, said the woman twice tried to kill herself at school by overdosing on sleeping pills."

Kobe didn't rape Faber. I know everyone here knows this, but let me drop some facts so people can lol at how ridiculous the case actually was.

1) Faber wasn't even supposed to be working the night of the incident. She specifically asked so she could see Kobe.
2) She took Kobe on a tour of the hotel and avoided other workers because it's against policy to sneak off with customers.
3) She claims Kobe blocked the door...except there are more than one door in those hotel rooms, lol. She later said she "misremembered" a lot of her claims right before the case fell apart because investigators were finding tons of inconsistencies.
4) Her boss said she was perfectly fine when she checked out. The neighbors heard nothing.
5) The ONLY person who claimed she looked off was the bellboy whose semen was found on her cooch during her hospital examination....lulz.
6) In fact, she had THREE different guy's semen on her when she was examined....which suggests that she banged the bellboy before they hatched the plan, banged Kobe, and then banged her BF that night. :wow
7) I don't know of many "rape victims" who are fine afterwards, don't tell anyone anything till the next day and have 3 different guy's semen on them. :lmao
8) Faber bragged about Kobe's size at a party.
9) Faber openly discussed what she would do with the money from a claim with friends.
10) SHE MADE MULTIPLE FALSE CLAIMS AGAINST EVEN FAMILY MEMBERS BEFORE THIS CASE. The rape shield laws prevented Kobe attorneys from bringing this up :nope
11) She tried to kill herself a few months before the incident.
12) After the case was dropped, she was put in a mental hospital AND got preggers there, lol. :downspin:
13) the Pre-trial judge basically said there was no case but that his hands were tied.

Whether you love, hate, or are indifferent to Kobe, the fact that this case even got close to a trial is disturbing if you're male.

Bwahahaha Conceivable?!?! Please feel free to educate me about how a rape victim is "supposed" to act so I can understand how it is conceivable and questionable at the same time.

Hahah, sorry, I haven't been raped. Perhaps you have some experience here and can enlighten me?

And again since you seemed to have missed it, I didn't ask what a schizophrenic is. I asked you where are you getting that she was schizophrenic?

To be blunt since you don't understand. Schizophrenics are delusional. They suffer from delusions and voices that aren't really there.

Do you accept the testimony of a person who is delusional?

And vice versa, I am just asking you to substantiate what you said. But of course you can't b/c your statement isn't supported by any facts.

You disagree. If you don't have anything better than that then too bad.

That isn't what I asked you though is it? I said, is not denying something now an admission of guilt? B/c you seemed to be imply that it was.

Lakers get a chance to take the NBA lead this week.

Now that is funny. Two examples would be the Celtics and the Cavs. Both were pounding teams. Look where it got them while the "squeaking by" Lakers "rang sans daddy".

Nonsense. Lakers beat the Celtics twice last year even though the C's were pounding teams last year. Lakers also beat the Cavs twice last year while the Cavs were murdering teams.

Lakers ended the Celtics 17 game winning streak and their 12 game winning streak if I remember correctly. :lol

Even better, the Lakers stopped Boston's 19 & 12 game streaks. And Cleveland's about 20 game home streak

Kobe just passed 24,000, so he needs around 14,500 more to pass Kareem. if he score around 2200 more this year he will be around 26,200. So if he gets around 2,000 a season(25 ppg), he'll reach KAJ at 37-38.

Keep in mind that he can have years of 30, 28, 26, 24, 22, 20 ppg, and still average 25 ppg for those 6 years.

Shaq didn't bring anything. LA was getting swept out of the playoffs before Kobe became a fulltime starter and they got Phil. Shaq had Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Ceballos, Elden Cambell, Rick Fox, and still could do jack. If anything, LA gave Snaq 3 rings, not the other way around because Buss & West built a team that could when with Snaq being a non-factor in the 4th quarter. Snaq should also thanks Wade 7 Zo for his 4th.

Where's the quote bitch?

Back-pedaling? :lol

Let me know when it does.

Nonsense.

Can't you even realize the point you were making here? Probably not.

Let me put in simple terms for you: winning close games is mostly a matter of luck; the quality of the team is pretty irrelevant. Hence, teams that start the season with a better record than their point differential (like the Lakers this season) tend to slow down.

Either you believe that the Lakers have been lucky, as I said or you believe that the illiterate rapist is gloriously carrying the team on his backs. If it's the second, there's no reason to not bet they'll keep their record.

The fact you are trying to backpedal from the thread shows you understand the reason the Lakers are 5-1 is because they've been lucky by getting 3/4 close wins they didn't deserve (with the customary help from the refs).

So, are you going to behave like a man and accept the bet or not?

You backed out of a 15.5 point bet. Have you changed your mind and grown the balls to accept?

Damn. Is this true Allanon? Is this a habit of yours? Not only you defend that mentally disturbed girls should be raped with no penalty to the rapist you also have a story of backing out from bets. This is beyond pathetic, even for a Lakers fan.

Man up, accept the bet, at least one of them, tell the board you were drunk when you wrote about being okay to rape mentally ill women and recover some dignity. Right now you're looking like a total loser, a modern version of whipping-boy Jerry West.

Kudos for showing up and trying to make up for the sissification of your fellow fan. :toast I understand someone like Allanon, the apologist of raping the mentally ill, can make even the regular retarded Lakers fan embarrassed.

I think it's our duty to give Allanon a chance of manning up and accepting the bet. If he keeps behaving as an unrepentant coward in a week, persisting in backing out of the bet, then we have a deal. The Lakers have 1 loss every 6 games, so you lose the moment they get their 13,5 loss of the season. I'll round up in your favour, you lose at the 14 L. Hopefully Allanon will understand his errors and accept the bet, but if not, good luck.

Instead, what the results tend to show is that the difference between good teams and bad teams is mitigated in close games. Look at the best-fit regression line on the chart. The slope is nowhere near 1, and the difference between the expected record in close games for the very best teams (about .600) and the very worst teams (about .400) is much smaller than the difference between them in games that are not decided down the stretch.

I wish I saved all the times I've heard people say LeBron is the best player in the world to a file.

I do remember one from the playoffs last year that I'm sure Bryant couldn't handle.

“But even though it’s hard for me to be objective, because I brought Kobe to Los Angeles, I do think LeBron has surpassed Kobe as a player.” Jerry West

I always say when you win in this league people tend to overaggegerate the greatness of a player. When the lakers won the 3 peat it was Shaq is the best bigman in the league and when the spurs won their titles it was Duncan is the best player in the league. Hell Chuck use to always be on Duncan's dick when the spurs were winning and was anti Kobe for many years up until the Gasol trade. Personally I think Lebron is by far a better player then Kobe considering he has managed to win at a high percentage with mediocre talent something Kobe couldn't do which was evident from '04-'07 that his teams were pure garbage. I know some people will spin the lakers current 5-1 record but they have won against 5 shitty creampuff teams. Whenever Lebron wins that first title whether its with the Cavs or someother team you will see the same guys who are on Kobe's dick jump on to Lebrons dick.

Your organization does have a great history of stealing players Shaq,Jabbar, or making bs collusions trades so I wouldn't hold it past them. However I think when Lebron hits his prime and has the pieces around him the Lakers will be in rebuilding mode so pretty much they will be irrelevant at that point of time.

Kobe = 4 rings
Duncan = 3 rings

Kobe = 6 Finals
Duncan = 3 Finals

Kobe was 4-1 against Duncan in the playoffs. Duncan never even led his team to the Finals 2 or more years in a row.

1) Kobe
2) Duncan
3) Snaq

Tim and Shaq are the two best players of the decade. Don't give me that Kobe shit. All you fuckers believe the hype the last couple of years ESPN are feeding you. Kobe's been the best player in the league for maybe 2 seasons max.

Kobe 4-1 against Duncan LOL

Kobe had the other player of the decade besides Tim on his team to help him get that 4-1 advantage.

Take away Shaq and it's 1-4 against Duncan, better yet put Shaq on the Spurs with TD and it's 0-4.

How can you say it's Kobe 4-1 when he had Shaq for three of those as the centerpiece of that team. Kobe at best was the third best player of the decade who played with arguably the second best or best player of the decade in Shaq for 3 of those titles.

You Kobe cocksuckers are fucking retards.

Yes. 3 for 3. Ie They've won all 3 of their close games. 3 of the Lakers 6 games have been close. The won all 3 close games.

Look it up.

Answer the question. So how does this fit into your fancy graph?

Do you think the Lakers are the first team to win 3 close games in a row?

It fits perfectly, what's the problem? Some of the teams depicted in the graph have won 7 close games in a row.

It only means that you should expect the Lakers winning record in close games to go down.

Because the correlation between the quality of the team and their winning record in close games is pretty low.

Something that you seem unable to understand.

Racism is the belief that race (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_%28classification_of_human_beings%29) is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism#cite_note-M-W-0) In the case of institutional racism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institutional_racism), certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or get preferential treatment. Racial discrimination typically points out taxonomic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxonomy) differences between different groups of people, although anyone may be discriminated against on an ethnic or cultural basis, independently of their somatic differences. According to the United Nations (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations) conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_group) discrimination.
Ignorant. The fact that "European" isn't a race, doesn't mean your confessed hate for Europeans isn't racism.

Hypocrisy in 3...2...1....

Typical procedure of PC weirdos: if you don't want to conform to my cultural zeitgeist and my set of behaviours, then you're an obtuse racist.

if a word, gesture or whatever is seen as offensive by you it may not be by people with a different culture, so it's wrong to accuse them of lack of decency just because they don't follow your codes.

Controlling one's over-sensitiveness and egolatry is also part of acting with common decency

The idea that we should restrain from using some words and label those words as derogatory because an individual says he's offended by them is totally unreasonable and unacceptable in a civilized society.

anyone who wants to arbitrarly deem certain words as proper or not, acceptable or derogatory, shall not be tolerated

b) Allanon's thesis that we should disregard the testimony of women victim of rape that have had psychiatric treatment.

You are twisting words again because that is what you do. I never mentioned Hondo specifically. I said there are a lot of role players for those Celtic teams that had 8 rings. Certainly Heinsohn was. Certainly KC Jones was. Certainly Tom Sanders was. That's 3 of the 4 that have 8 you imbecile.

I even explained to you that I was talking (about ring total) in reference to the 1 to 10 top players all time when its said and done. You have MJ in the talk, you have Russell, Kareem, Wilt, Bird, Magic etc. And of that "elite" group it is not inconcievable that Kobe could end up as the original poster said, with the 2nd highest ring total.

Certainly Hondo was a great player but not even a moron like you would put him in the top 10 or 20.

But you fail to see any logical points and only twist comments and put words into peoples mouths because... well... that's who you are.

Sorry, you have not posted any contradictory source. Until then you have disproven nothing but given plenty of opinion. Keep trying though, you'll get it :tu

Then answer.

Then write a question.

Sure guy. ;)
I'm glad you like it :)

I didn't say you were in motion, I said I figured out you were slow about seven pages ago. I get that you are slow guy, but really how many times do I have to repeat myself?
You said my house of cards was falling. You're falling with them.

:lol That's rich.

Ho Ho Ho, let's laugh together.

Well she did ask me to go easy on you. I just didn't realize easy meant "that" easy.

Yes I'm easy, she's easy. That's why I like that ho so much.

I hate to break it to you, but your ignorance doesn't turn a fact into an opinion. It is enough for me to know your source is bunk and to told you exactly were to look. If you want to keep touting it and looking even more stupid then again, that is on you. Mind you it isn't really surprising.

Then write a question.

Do try and keep up b/c I already wrote the question.

Imagine that, ANOTHER homo erotic statement.

No, actually you didn't. What you did do was put a lot of nonsense that had nothing to do with the question, but you in no way, shape, or form answer the question. If you honestly think you did then that is yet another strike against our education system.

If you find it homo that your mom is on her knees playing the black flute, that's in your own deluded fantasy, not mine.

I find it homo that you admittedly like to have all your holes explored. If that is your thing then more power to you, but please don't feel the need to share such details with me in the future.

Hey, you're disagreeing with my OPINION. Find your own facts, I'm not going to do your homework for you. Until then, it is your OPINION.

Are you forgetting that you already tried and failed "to do my homework for" me? There are no facts that support your opinion. Again that is why you can't/won't support them, and why you can't/don't want to discuss them.

Don't blame me for your ignorance in asking a question. It's people like you that give our educational system a bad name.

The lengths that you will go to to avoid answering a question are astounding. At this point you have been dodging answering a question, to clarify something you implied, for seven pages. Really that must be some sort of record.

You are mistaken. I said your mom likes to have all her holes explored. I am just obliging that dirty bitch.

Actually no you didn't. This is what you said,

I'm just stating that with me, she's a filthy ho...no holes not explored; if yah know what I mean.

Oh yes, we sadly know what you mean. Care to try again?

Mogrove....your a FUCKING idiot...

There are so many variables in your idea that close games are won out of luck. What is a close game? The definition varies for each person. A good team can battle back from 20 points and might come up a short....a bad team will rarely battle back from 20 so there is no loss counting against their close games record. East/West talent ratio. West has a higher quantity of quality teams.

Bottom line...the team with more talent and the better team will win FAR more close games than a shitty team. If you don't want to fucking believe this than God help you. No graph can fucking prove me wrong either....

Look, the bet should be easy to figure out.

Mogro says that close game wins aren't a good indicator of a teams skill, as the highest correlation is still only 60%.

Allanon disagrees, saying that the Lakers will win more close games, on average, then the graph says they should.

Just to make sure, they should set the percentage of games to a nice number... How about 75% Allanon? That is much higher than Mogros graph would account for.

Sound good to both sides?
