Najera has a nack for injuring people... so maybe its not too bad of news

i wonder how effective Camby will be if hes even healthy enough to play. That leaves just Nene, Martin, and Elson and I know Tim will have at least one of those in foul trouble.

Did he try to karate chop somebody? The first round just got a magnitude easier.

Najera killed us in the last game against the Nuggets.

Najera injury, that's 1 defender off Duncan's shoulders.

ESPN reports:
The team also put defensive star Marcus Camby on the injured list, though he will be eligible for the playoffs that begin this weekend :rolleyes

Im not asking if he's gonna be eligible, im asking about his injury, was it a real injury or was it just an excuse to get him some rest?

Bah Camby seems to be injured every other game. Even if hes back there will probabl be another one. He pretty much re-defined the term "China Doll"

Camby suffered a strained right hamstring against Memphis on Friday...

i guess it's real! :rolleyes

Bad luck for the Nuggets. Najera is one of those guys that you hate to play against because he doesn't give up and he's always going to body you up. Not that I'm glad to see someone injured, but this is the one player that I would like to sit for the Nuggets (after Anthony off course). I remember when we played the Mavs in the west Finals and he played a very physical defense on Duncan, not that it mattered but that's one big body down. We still have Rasho on the injured list, so I don't feel sorry for them.

With Najera and Camby hurtin' and Tim's well-known ability to own KMart, I'm not too worried about the Nugs. Just somewhat worried. They definitely have a real team there, and we better be damn awake for this or it could get ugly in a hurry. Young, strong, brash team to watch out for.
However, in the playoffs especially the refs blow whistles according to the NBA Star 2005 Guide, and Tim will get more 'respect' than any of the Nuggets. Plus the playoffs is a slower tempo emphasizing set offenses, which Spurs do way better than Denver. Should be a good series, but I call Spurs in 6.

I know what you mean. But he's played as many games this season as Tim Duncan has.

Nice guy that Najera. Manson's brother!

timvp
04-19-2005, 08:15 AM
Damn.

All that means is that Najera is going to be wearing some type of iron-platted bandage on his hand and will use it to swipe down on Tim.

Najera doesn't need manual dexterity to do what he does. It's not like he dribbles or shoots.

Will they actually allow him to play with a cast???

Obstructed_View
04-19-2005, 09:49 AM
That would be like letting Deke play with spikes on his elbows.

guys im not too happy to see so many people concerned over the health of eddy freakin najera

screw him and his hand, i hope it magically heals and becomes twice as strong

just so it makes owning him and his team that much sweeter

I don't think they'll allow you to play with any kind of hard cast on.

I don't think anyone is "concerned" about Najera, more like revelling in the karma of it all. ;)

It's a discussion board. We are discussing it. Again, we have no control over the outcome, so who really cares how anyone "feels" about it?

Aren't Najera and Forstson the kind tough, hustling, mix-it-up, never-back-down, rebounding "enforcer" that so many Spurs fans want TMass, NazR!, Glenn to be?

What if Rasho, with his height, played that kind of game? Would the Spurs fans love it or condemn it?

Najera is dirty. I don't see enough of Fortson to judge, but Eddie, from his Dallas days, is a thug, and I haven't seen anything in Denver to change my mind. I remember him raking down across Malik's face in game 6 of the '03 WCF. There is a difference between good hustle play and hard fouls, and thuggery/trying to hurt someone. I think that Najera is dirty.

All true.

But if he were on the Spurs, he'd go down as the most popular bench player in team history.

I'm not sure, timvp. Rose hustled, and was a trickster, but his worst offense was pulling the chair on defense.

But if Malik was a Mexican OU grad, he'd still be in San Antonio. Hell, him and Manu would be making Time Warner commercials together.

The thought of Najera coming out on court with a hard cast scares the hell out of me.

That fucker will be breaking wrists, noses, anything he can.

He's a fucking thug with a capital T. The best thing for us if he rolls out with a cast on would be to have Sean Marks go in and just break his face.

Najera was just interviewed after Denver game and he said he is getting cast off tomorrow and he will give it a go. Maybe not by Sunday, he said.

he said it was a bone and there are dozens of them, so it does not sound too serious. He will probably be ready for game 3.
