I guess there was something wrong with Duncan when we saw him limping.
No doubt you have to activate either Haslip or Ian now.

Woohoo! With Duncan out we can not truly play small ball!!!

Center - Blain 6'6"
PF - Finley 6'7"
SF - RJ 6'7"
SG - Mason 6'5"
PG - Hill 6'2"

LOVE IT!!!!

No worries. Maybe the vaunted Bonner-Hairston combination can thwart Bosh-Bargnani on the front line. Forget about activating another big too, maybe coach Bud can be activated and used as the backup center.

And it's still just November. In through the nose, out through the mouth. :)

I'm not one to prematurely panic, but let me ask all of you who share this sentiment a question: Is the goal not to win a championship this season? And if it is, then how viable does that sound if the Spurs fall completely out of the race for home court early and end up with the 5-6 best record in the league? Is this team really capable of beating, say, the Lakers AND Celtics, in succession, without home court, to win the championship?

I'm all for not running the key guys into the ground in order to pursue home court, but essentially conceding it is just as foolish. The Lakers and Celtics in particular are better than the mid-decade Suns and Mavs. They're not led by players who have a reputation for folding or wilting in pressure situations and they don't have glaring weaknesses on their teams that the Spurs can easily exploit. They'll be no out-smarting them or vastly out-coaching them. Beating one in 6 at home or in a game 7 on the road is plausible (though I shudder to think how the officiating would be in such a game against these two given what they mean to the league and the stakes of the game), but both?

San Antonio, TX (Sports (http://www.wbir.com/sports/pro_basketball/nba/story.aspx?storyid=104346&catid=157#) Network) - San Antonio's Tony Parker and Tim Duncan will not play Monday against Toronto because of ankle injuries.
Parker rolled his ankle in the second quarter of Friday's loss to Portland and left the game (http://www.wbir.com/sports/pro_basketball/nba/story.aspx?storyid=104346&catid=157#) without returning. X-rays were negative, but the left ankle sprain will force him to the bench.
Duncan will sit with swelling in his left ankle, though an MRI exam revealed no structural damage.
Both players will be listed as day-to-day following Monday's game.

I don't care about the actual game, but Duncan's feet acting up already is very troubling..

At least we'll see some Ratliff tonight..maybe Ian or Haislip will be activated, but I doubt they play..

We're gonna need a lot of perimeter scoring tonight, so I hope Hairston plays, Toronto has no interior defense or perimeter defenders in general..

Now it seems like over 80% of ST immediately jump to a (negative) conclusion... why??

No Negitivity here. I'm hoping this will allow some of our unknowns to get some good burn out of this that they normally would. Only thing negative I was throwing out there was that Pop might just use old Finely at Tims minutes. I wish I could say this was as ridicules as it sounds.

I'm hoping to be proven wrong there though.:toast

The good side of this is of course Hairston and maybe Ian and Haislip will get a chance, and they will be motivated because they know they won't get many.

Duncan shouldn't be playing in back-to-back games after he fucking tweaked his ankle the night before..just stupidity..this is the time to work out the rotation, we have 2 bigs on the IL and Ratliff on the bench..

It makes sense now about how he looked though, considering how good he's looked in the other games..

It's still worrying that he's playing hurt in these meaningless early games..

Duncan apparently tweaked the ankle during the Utah game, then attempted to play on it in Portland. It swelled up afterward.

That's what I thought.

If you remember, I think it was late in the third where Deron drove the lane and drew a foul. Tim immediately started to limp, not sure if Deron landed on his foot or if he turned it in traffic as he went for the contest, and started to head towards the bench. He came back when he heard the whistle to take his place at the free-throw line but then limped to the bench as there was a timeout called; makes sense now..
