first handful of games really don't tell you much about what's to come in april/may

the individual stats are so goofy you have to admit the top 10 is highly unlikely to look even 50% similar by january let alone april.

ok well, the obvious one is that Chris Bosh is not the league's best 3pt shooter. He might end the season 5/5 from 3pt range but he is not the best shooter. He might end the season 5/100 from 3pt range. It's too early to tell who is the league's top 10 3pt shooters. Not enough games, not enough play.

Same thing goes for determining what kind of team the Spurs are/will be. What style, what rotation, what performances we'll see, etc

Lots of 'fans' going batshit thinking the Spurs are a lottery team because we didn't go 6-0 the past two weeks. It's gonna be ok, the first handful of games are wacky. The stats help put that into perspective.

figured thats what you were getting at (my last post was actually a Family Guy quote), but the connection between the thread title and the link posted wasn't explained very well.

I know that as a new poster its good to keep posts short, but not to the detriment of your point.
