Evans is no joke either. Those two are good.

Martin has been so fragile last two years. Evans was a good pick but will he become a PG or stay as an combo guard playing at SG.

What the hell were they thinking starting Sean May at C and Desmond Mason at SF in the first place anyway?
Much more balance to the team now... inserting Noce and Hawes gives Evans room to get to the paint and draw the defense or use his athleticism to finish.

I think they should trade Kevin Martin to the Warriors for Steven Jackson...Kevin Martin has no defense and gets hurt alot.

So he'll either change...or stay the same...brilliant analysis.

The Kings will not trade a 26 year old Kevin Martin for a 31 year old S-Jax. Getting hurt a lot comes with Martin's playing style. Kevin Martin's defense comes and goes. You don't know what you can get from him. I think he can be a perfect 2nd option or even a great sixth man off a contender's bench, like what Ginobili is doing.

Martin is a solid player, but doesn't do much more than score. He does take way to many shots. T. Evans and J. Thompson are both future all-stars

I think the whole sean may starting was because hawes and westphal bumped heads during the offseason, so he made hawes earn back his starting position. also i like that they have been playing donte green over mason

The Kings are playing really well as a team right now. Hustling, rebounding, and playing surprisingly good defense in spurts.
Thompson, Evans, and Nocioni are leading the way with nice contributions from Hawes, Udrih, and Udoka.
Still a lot of basketball to play but you can't mock there effort at the moment.

they've actually got some nice pieces in place with Casspi, Thompson, Evans and Hawes. like with pretty much every bad team though they need a post player that can score.

Hawes and Thompson both have moves in the post from games I've seen. Neither is a dominant force but they both have a few moves.

Tyreke Evans, ROY. He'll be better than Derrick Rose.
John Thompson, possible All Star. Spencer Hawes, solid big man. Noce, good vet. Casspi a great draft pickup at #23.
The rest; whatever.

Just like the Rockets, a team with a bunch of non-stars getting it done. Although, give it a year or two and Evans should be in the conversation for best PG's in the league.

Caspi is having a nice start and it looks like Donte Green is finally getting it. Those 2 alone should push Mason to the end of the bench.
It'll be interesting to see where they're at 2 months from now.

I actually think that is good for both the Wolves and the Kings. Wolves become contenders with Kevin Martin and Al Jefferson. You just need Corey Brewer or some other guy for them to become an excellent perimeter defender and they are ready to go. For the Kings, they get the marketable Rubio, a playmaker in Westphal's offense. Rubio shows he can hustle and Evans moves back to his natural position at the 2 to play and trade Jason Thompson if Derrick Favors is on the board for them in the lottery. All this can only work, however, if Rubio actually wants to join the NBA.

No, they don't.
This deal would have to be done in the offseason with the Wolves getting another top 7 pick. They could very well be contenders and they also have cap space in 2010.

Either way, no way the Kings trade Kevin Martin now. He is injured. Do you even think it is feasible? Rubio has not even been signed to a contract yet. It is either the Kings trade for Rubio's rights in the offseason after seeing that Evans can't play point guard or 2 years later when he officially signs with the Wolves.

Isn't John Thompson a little too old to be playing pro basketball?..
Anyways, this won't last..Kings have a bunch of good role players, no star..they'll have to pick up a good lottery spot for next year's draft and hope to pick up a star..
Kevin Martin has been overrated for years, he's a 1-trick player, and his style of basketball hurts the game..

They just know Tyreke Evans is better and that does not even mean that Rubio sucks. Rubio's contract situation also prevented teams with less than enough patience to wait for his ass to get into the NBA.
Edit: Evans, Thompson and Udrih lead the Kings to a 5-4 record.

I agree. I followed Thompson last year and he's now really growing into his game. Evans was tentative when Martin was around, but now that he's the man he's showing just how good he is.
Regarding Martin, is it just me or does he come off as a sulky biatch half the time? I'd trade him to let Evans grow since Evans is a far more complete player (and I don't think Martin would take being a 2nd banana), although I'm not sure who I'd target for that trade.
As for Hawes, I'm not convinced. He shows flashes of excellence, but seems far too easily rattled and very much a confidence player.

Kings fans are crazy then.
McGrady is a ball-dominator, shoots a poor %, and would stiffle Evans' development, not to mention his age and injury history.
They should be able to get a very good player with less risk than T-Mac for Martin.
