Leave that nickname bullshit to espn. The only Spurs nicknames that I'll ever recognize is The Iceman and The Admiral (The Big Fundamental is pretty retarded IMO)

I've always liked 'Havoc' because of what he creates defensively but 'Hawk' would be pretty decent for his ball-hawking ability and wingspan.

Has anyone heard him called The Human Palindrome?

his college IUPUI is a palindrome(reads the same backwards and forwards)

his style of playing is intense on both ends of the court(offensively and defensively)

yeah i know, not the greatest nickname....I was actually just thinking of it cuz people are always calling him "OoheyPoohey" but that's phonetically incorrect. It should be pronounced "EeoohPoohey"(less catchy, of course)

George looks so confident this year. He looked good even in his rookie year but he's playing with so much intensity, like he's got a lot to prove. It's very exciting.

I remember when this topic came up last year and the talk was of how he was a sponge and just absorbing everything given to him, I thought to call him 'Sylar.'; he's already taken some of Tony and Manu's moves/abilities on his drives and he's obviously ripped Bowen's corner 3..

'Sylar' Hill? Sounds like he should have an album. :lol

Hmmmm... curious... I don't think Manu and Parker have nicknames that stuck.

I mean Manu '????' Ginobili. Tony '????' Parker. They're just Manu and Tony (or TP).

Aren't Manu and Tony nicknames?

Emanuel Ginobili
William Anthony Parker

In the 2005 Finals Manu was called Obi-Wan-Ginobili.

In the vein of Stretch Armstrong, we could go with "Mr. Fantastic". Of course, Hill isn't part of the Spurs' true fantastic 4.

Actually "The Admiral" was pretty bogus too, I dont think David liked it, just tolerated it. The Iceman was the only worthwhile Spurs nickname. Ill just settle for wins.

I still prefer the idea of giving him an everchanging array of nicknames depending on how he's doing, from George "Mole" Hill when he stinks to George "King of the" Hill when he's tearing it up. I envision something similar to whoever it is that has the "Pop's Beard Status" in this signature. That's some great stuff.

If Bonner has a nickname, George deserves one. The alma mater name is weak. Should we call Dejuan "Pitt"?... actually that sounds kinda tough. Maybe I spoke too soon.

We could call him "Knuckles" since with his arms they probably scrape the ground when he walks.

I always thought it would be hilarious to nickname a player from SA "El Jalapeno" but that doesn't quite fit...

It took me a while, but I think I remember Schoening calling him "Indy G" in the pre-season.

Because he is a G from Indy. Or the G stands for George. Either way.

Indy G is a rad name but I can't imagine anyone ever calling him that in public. I can't see a broadcaster saying or publication printing. It's too pop-culture-y, but it's a great name.

I think you might have stumbled on to something..

George 'Indy' Hill, I like it; someone get to photoshopping Raiders of the Lost Ark.. :lol

I'm not sure how many got to hear the interview he had on 1250 a couple of days ago, but Indy's a real sense of pride for him; it's actually something he and Pop share. When asked about his upbringing and how it really could've gone the wrong way for him, he played it off and said Pop probably had it even rougher growing up. I guess it's just another reason Pop has a soft spot for him.

It was good hearing him in a relaxed setting and getting to hear more of his personality; apparently he's new to twitter and was guilty of holding up traffic while he was updating his account at a stoplight on his way to the remote.
