Gamers who have altered consoles not permitted to use gaming service

Anywhere between an estimated 600,000 and 1 million players who use Microsoft's Xbox Live gaming service will be cut off from the service because they have modified their game consoles or played games that were illegally downloaded from file-sharing sites, according to the company.

That link you posted earlier, was a guy saying Turn 10 (Forza guys) banned him from ONLINE SERVERS of their particular game (Motorsport 3), but he was fine on XBOX LIVE. Microsoft had nothing to do with it.

secondly, I have seen TWO confirmations from XBOX STAFF that playing legit copy + legit console = NO PROBLEM

Fucktard, Ive already told you many game bloggers/gaming sites got their legit consoles banned for playing mw2 with their review copies. They were legitimate retail copies and they still got banned for playing early on non modified consoles.

current xbox 360 is awesome when it comes to this. cheaters don't exist unless the host can mod. in which case, you can just leave and join another game. done

Again, modders, and you have to be the host to mod the game. Easy to avoid.

It's not like on the PC, where you can join any server, and turn on your hacks and rage the server. On the 360, you have to host a game to mod it.

This is the MAIN reason I quit PC FPS games. Everyone cheats, and some of the 'top players' try and hide it and pass it off as skill. It's an art form.

There's way less cheating on te 360, but there still is. GTA 4 and CoD 4 are both hacked, if you didn't know. I know for a fact you don't have to be host to hack on GTA. not sure about CoD4

I dont play console FPSs...hell I dont play on Live/PSN at all, really. Wouldnt know what can and cannot be modded/hacked in the console market.

Not guaranteed at all. I frequent the same servers with the same clans and the same people with the same skills and the same scores.

Funny thing, the high scores on this server are pretty much the same on any server.

It isnt to say people dont cheat (hardly), but not nearly as many do as one might think.
