View Full Version : CP3: "Why wasn't I consulted about coaching change"

Paul wasn’t happy with the decision, and he certainly wasn’t pleased with being caught off guard by the announcement. He said the Hornets should have sought his and West’s input before the decision was finalized.
"I felt like, maybe somebody would have at least consulted with me and asked how I felt before it happened," Paul said by telephone Thursday night. "It’s not to get my approval, but we feel we should know about the decision before it takes place"

"You can’t put all this on Coach," Paul said.
Scott is the only coach that Paul has played for since coming to the Hornets as a first-round draft pick in 2005. They became golf partners this summer and Paul largely credits Scott for helping him develop into becoming a two-time All-Star point guard and Olympic gold medal winner.
Though Scott was a demanding coach, Paul said their relationship transcended beyond the court.
"
Coach had an open line of communication," Paul said. "Guys would feel a certain way about playing time, and Coach was always honest with you. He was always straight-forward with you from Day One."

lol son ... nice try and making the title of this thread look worse than it really is. you are trying to make it sound like Paul was demanding them to get his approval. he just simply wished they had asked his thoughts about the situation. the real quote below ..

"I felt like, maybe somebody would have at least consulted with me and asked how I felt before it happened," Paul said by telephone Thursday night. "It’s not to get my approval, but we feel we should know about the decision before it takes place"

Please, bp3's just bitching for the sake of bitching. It's not like he hasn't had a conflicted relationship with Byron Scott already. If Scott wasn't fired, I wouldn't be surprised if Paul went calling for his head in a few games. Dude just loves to bitch and moan and cry like a little girl.

If I'm Scott, I go to Atlanta, and demand the head job. Paul will follow.
lol at 50% of Laker fans being butthurt over a former 80's Laker getting fired from another team's coaching job in 2009.

If there's one thing the b-ball world can count on besides bp3 crying, it's Laker fan getting butthurt and overly-protective about one of their own.

True, but at t he end of the day, he is not part of the front office and there are so other factors that you have to consider, and I think they fired Scott in order to keep CP3:

The Hornets are struggling, and the arena is far from being sold out every night.
Therefore, it's importatn to win in order to get more revenues. They can't afford to lose money if they want to keep CP3.

Plus, if the Hornets start winning again, CP3's opinion will change in a jiffy

balli
11-13-2009, 11:06 AM
If the front office had deigned to ask Paul his opinion that would have been fine... but they didn't and don't owe him a fucking thing. He's their franchise player- not their vice president.

If they decided not to throw him a bone, oh well, that's the FO's decision.

:lol @ your mental gymnastics. That theory is quite a reach kid. Laker fans don't give a shit if Byron fucking Scott gets fired from the Hornets. :rolleyes Utah fans like yourself on the other hand are infamous for having a little dick complex about Chris Paul. This is common knowlege. You can't stand the fact that people think Paul > Williams. This fact is well known and has even been documented by Bill Simmons. So if anyone in this thread is "butthurt" and has an agenda it's your magic underwearing sisterwife having ass.

IF true - bad move by the front office. Even if they weren't going to change their mind if Paul was against the firing, they still need their franchise player to feel like his opinion is valued - even if the team goes in a different direction.

Paul isn't the VP, but as Paul goes so goes the Hornets. A smart front office knows they need to keep their best player engaged if they want there to be a long term relationship.

This is the kind of shit that leads down a slippery slope of trust issues between players and management. With the botched Chandler trade last year and now this, New Orleans is one management fuckup away from completely imploding like the Clippers last year.

Quite frankly man, I can more than stomach the cp3 > deron opinion. Any day of the week. Shit, I'll play devil's advocate and make the argument myself. I'm not dumb, I can read the stats. I know their respective differences in steals, rebounds and most importantly ast/TO. I got nothing on Chris Paul the basketball player. Dude's legit. I don't hate him one bit because people think he's better than Deron. Maybe he is better than Deron, IDK?

I'm perfectly entitled to think he's a little cocksucker. Pretty much everybody else does; usually not out of loyalty to Deron Williams.

Although he said he wanted to be consulted... he clarified it with his comment that he said he should have been informed prior to the news going public. He obviously used the word "consult" incorrectly in the first sentence. His latter sentence cleared it up. Well... for those who can read.

"I felt like, maybe somebody would have at least consulted with me and asked how I felt before it happened," Paul said by telephone Thursday night. "It’s not to get my approval, but we feel we should know about the decision before it takes place"

I think this may have been the reason a lot of the me first bitches on the team (West) rebelled. An open line of communication to me means you have no reason to not understand why or how something works because you can always ask. The little bitch also said that Scott helped him develop into the player he has become, so if the Hornets young talent wasn't developed it was because they had none.

son again, don't bother bringing FACTS into this forum when it comes to Chris Paul ... most people on here have such a deep hatred for him that they fabricate headlines like this to make it look worse than it is and they turn the other cheek when they see the facts.

I don't like the little flopper either... but i respect his talents. With that said, I can actually read and he did not say that he wanted a part in the decision, only to be informed of it prior to going pubic. These goofballs here will twist anything to fit their arguments.
