It still often happens that men and women use perfumes to disguise the fact they hadn't showered. While it is sometimes excusable (ie spend the whole day traveling and in meetings then go directly to formal diner) the results are always horrific.

I love perfumes. I will always pay more attention to a woman if she's wearing a good quality perfume to compliment her natural - as in clean - fragrance.

And a little off topic for the ladies: Miss Dior Cherie trust me! There's even a hint of caramelized popcorn in it (seriously) but it's a beautiful perfume.

I'm sorry to hear this, because as I said I love perfumes. To me it's an integral part of the outfit. I rarely wear cologne during the day, but for those special occasions when I take special care of my appearance - cologne is a must.

I will however agree with you about the "spray ladies" in the stores. I make a point to warn them off well before I'm in range of their sample bottles :lol. Due to the mix of scents in those stores it is in fact quite easy to develop a headache even if your not hypersensitive to perfume.

I know everybody is supposed to know how to use/apply perfume, but it's true that you can often run into people who smell like they really took a bath in some weird perfume cocktail.

for special occasions I like a little Banana Republic Classic on RG. It's very light and clean, almost smells like a freshly-starched shirt.

One also has to remember that colognes and perfumes that are right for one person may not be right for someone else. Everyone has their own personal "scent" that mixes with whatever scent you may be wearing...so even though you pick something that is universally accepted as smelling good, it still may not be the best for you.

I have one that I wear that almost nobody here wears and it's a unique scent so every time I go out with it I get at least one compliment from a woman and get asked what I'm wearing. That one is Marc Jacobs.

The other one that most people don't wear and gets some compliments is Versace Man.

Agua Di Gio is nice smelling but everybody wears it so it loses it's appeal. I always look for scarce and distinctive.

what do the ladies and gents of ST have in their summer fragrance line up this year? i recently copped the versace veros. it has a smooth vanilla/mint scent but for the summer i like to wear citrus and floral notes. issey mayake and original dolce & gabbana being my summer fav's. i hear aqua di gio is a must have and so is 'love & luck' by ed hardy. i'm thinking of getting one more bottle of something before the father's day sale's end.

right now i have: versace, verace eros, dolce & gabbana, issey mayake, spicebomb and prada black.

I just picked up Chrome Legend by Azzaro, was pleasantly surprised. Smells like a mix between Polo Black and Chrome. Ross goes hard for cheap designer cologne.
