The Lakers are 2 made FTs away from being 5-6.

With Gasol, they're an excellent team; without him their only reliable shot-creator is Kobe. Quick backcourts will give them fits, they really miss Ariza in that part of the game.

I laugh at the morons who actually think games in November really mean something. There is still SO much more basketball left to be played. You really think the Celtics and Lakers won't go deep in the playoffs because of b2b losses in November? Give me a fucking break.

The Lakers are defending champs, playing without their 2nd best player. They are still 7-3. All they need to do is stay afloat until Gasol returns. If they are still playing like this come January/February then it is definitely time to be concerned. But for now, they get a pass in my book.

They are just celebrating a good win like every NBA team does. Nothing to get excited about. I don't see them talking as of it's a Championship. If they can't enjoy wins then why the fuck play?

One thing that really pisses me off is when a Laker makes an excuse.

They play the referee card and injury card?? I mean it's not enough to have the refs favoring them but now they throw out the injury card when the referee card is unavailable for play?

You guys just lost despite the bias Laker homecourt officiating. Too bad you guys are stupid enough to play the injury cards on the Rockets as well.........

The lakers should be worried. Injuries cancelling out and Ariza having missing the sea with every shot he took you still lost convincingly. And that was with Artest having a great game and the refs handicapping your pathetic asses with at least a dozen favorable calls.

I agree using the injury card is just and obvious excuse as the Lakers should have won regardless last night, but Lakers injury card is relevant to what will happen this year. If it was a season ending injury it would be less relevant as the team would be what it is for the year. Pau Gasol is expected back this month/season. And I don't know the exact stats but obviously Lakers with Gasol in the line up has an incredible win percentage and back to back finals appearances and 1 ring. So when Gasol is out its clearly a big impact player for the Lakers and its a fact that in a month the Lakers will be much tougher to beat. Obviously Rockets have injury problems but that is irrelevant to the fact that the Lakers will be better when Gasol is back whether the Rockets have injuries or not.

That doesnt even make sense. Since Tmac is expected back this season it doesnt matter Gasol is going to comeback for the Lakers? If you want to say that neutralizes Gasol somehow when Lakers plays the Rockets even though he doesnt ok whatever. How doesn't Gasol matter when the Lakers play the other 28 other NBA teams knowing what he has done as a Laker.
