George Mikan
What number was he?

Dennis Rodman one upped him by wearing 91 on the Bulls. His reasoning happens to be
9 + 1 = 10 which was the number he wore in Detroit.
Does 00 count as 100? I was certain someone was wearing that number.
Josh Howard doesn't count for "highest" jersey ever worn?

Ostertag used to wear 00. Artest with 97 is the top for all I know.

Besides Mikan, Roy Rogers Jr. also used #99 for the Celtics. Off the top of my head, I don't recall other guys using it.

If 00 would count as 100 is there a player that wears only one 0?

00 is 00, not 100.
What kind of NBA fan are you to ask if there's a player wearing #0?

Thanks for sharing that info. Obviously I did not know that. I guess I am not a real nba fan for not knowing every players jersey number :rolleyes

It doesn't make you an unreal fan, just a weird one.
Lots of guys wear or wore #0 and #00 - Robert Parish, Ostertag, Delk, Benoit Benjamin, Haywood, Montross for 00; Arenas, Hughes, Brooks, Bellineli, Orien Greene, Powe, Westbrook, Fred Jones for 0. And I'm surely forgetting many.

Obviously no one expects you to know everyone's jersey numbers, but it is a little unusual that a current NBA fan didn't know Gilbert wears 0 considering it's also his nickname.

I'm sure it was deep in my brain somewhere.. hadn't he been injured for a while? I'm not a fan of arenas nor do I care what his nickname or jersey number are. I know I have heard it before but I dont see any reason to remember it. I'm sure by tomorrow I will forget again :downspin:
