What am I going to do for breakfast? Seriously! I cannot find cinnamon swirl eggos to save my life!

American Shoppers Face Dire Eggo Shortage

As head-scratching as the idea of a processed breakfast food shortage may be, apparently Eggo is suffering its own version of a rainy growing season. According to its website, "Eggo recently experienced supply constraints caused by flood damage at our bakery in Atlanta. In addition, we've been making significant equipment and repairs in our largest waffle bakery. Unfortunately, this is taking longer than anticipated."

The Kellogg Company estimates that they should have fixed the problem by the middle of next year, and assures concerned parties that "[t]his is a top priority for Kellogg Company."

In the meantime, a call to Kellogg yielded the information that Eggos "may or may not be available" at Pathmark, CVS, Food Emporium, and Rite Aid.

They've had signs in the freezers at HEB for a few weeks now. Middle of next year? Yikes.

Buy a waffle maker and some pancake mix and pull out the spices. Learn by trial and error. It's cheaper anyway.

Homemade is the only way to go even if it does come from a box.

PROTIP: If you ate real food instead of eggos for breakfast you wouldn't be as fat.

As soon as I can teach my 12 year old to enjoy seaweed and creatine, I'll get right on it. :lol

I have one of these

and there is never a waffle shortage at my house. The only problem is that it's such a pain to clean---I make sure someone makes waffles for several days in a row before I tackle the washing up.

I have something similar in a box in my garage ... along with several other nifty kitchen gadgets I own. The odds of ever actually finding that particular box are not good. :(
