They don't look ready to give up the East lead. They look like a definite contender this season, better than the Magic.

AND...

It makes the Pistons upcoming schedule look all that much worse:

@ Blazers
@ Jazz
@ Suns
vs. Cavs
vs. Clippers
vs. Hawks
@ Bulls
vs. Milwaukee

I cant see making the hawks making it to the finals with the kinds of shots they jack up.

They are 4th in the league in scoring (108.0 PPG). Their differential is +8.2 a night (2nd in the league). They get 3 more rebounds than their opponents. As for your concern about their bad shots, they are 6th in the league in Rebounding Differential. They get nearly 12 offensive rebounds a night. In short, they are winning the battle of possessions. That's how they win.

Crawford and the improvement for Josh Smith really helped to propel them to this. However, let us not forget how the Hawks started out 6-0 last season.

They're still going to be way too small up front in the playoffs..

Too small? They held their own against probably the biggest frontline in the East--the Boston Celtics. When I say they held their own, they dominated them on the boards. They were deflecting shots and grabbing rebounds in traffic. They were playing volley-ball to the guards. They hustled and played fantastic. They have Josh and Joe Smith. They have Al Horford at center. They have Marvin Williams and Zaza off the bench.

Other than the fact they haven't been at the top before, I keep looking for a reason to not like their team and philosophy and I can't find one. They have depth, they have good guard play, and they have a go-to scorer with meat upfront. They've been in playoff wars the past two seasons. Lack of experience and teams finally keying in on them is the only reason they come out of the rafters. What they're doing is solid.

Hawks are a good team, but it is November, would be cool if they do good though. Teams can go from good to bad at anytime it is a long season and it takes a player to get hurt or a trade to happen for teams to go up and down. A Celtics or Mavs player could get hurt and they could go down while Thunder make a trade and get better, ok this prob won't happen, but long season don't look into what a teams record is till after christmas because anything can happen in the nba

The Hawks have the same record, and I believe they theoretically own the tie-breaker. So, the Hawks have the best record in the league.

Just hand the trophy to the Suns already...

I don't think they played yet, but Atlanta got a win against LA or Orlando?

Atlanta lost to LA but beat Boston, just like us. Don't think they've played Orlando.

They've beat the Blazers twice, Heat, Nuggets, and Celtics.

The Celts gave that game away. Instead of grabbing the ball for a rebound, they kept tipping/hurling the ball back to the Hawks.
