His legs are not there and his muscles needs sooooo much oxygen that he is tired after some strong punches in which he puts too much stenght.

Former two-title Pride champion Dan Henderson has signed a four-fight deal with Strikeforce, Henderson’s business partner and friend Aaron Crecy told MMAWeekly.com on Monday. AOL Fanhouse was first to report the signing.

Henderson, 39, could contend for a Strikeforce title in April on card to be broadcast by CBS, said another source with knowledge of negotiations. It is unknown whether his first fight would be in the 185 or 205-pound division.

Jack Shields, the manager/father of current middleweight champion Jake Shields, was open to a bout with Henderson, but hadn't spoken to Strikeforce as of Monday morning. He said Shields was still deciding whether to fight at welterweight or middleweight, and added Shields' contract with the promotion ended in mid-June.

Henderson became a free agent in August and was unable to come to terms with the UFC on a new contract. UFC president Dana White repeatedly claimed Henderson was asking for too much money during re-negotiations, a claim which Henderson and Crecy steadfastly denied.

Indeed. He is one big son-of-a-bitch. I have a feeling this guy will be Bob Sapp'ish.

I'm not sure what the means they steadfastly deny. Does it mean they believe they weren't asking too much, or that they weren't asking even the same amount as he was making. Which also leads to the question, how much is too much for Henderson? He's obviously a contender at either 185 or 205.

On the other side of that coin is Jake. It says Shields is a free-agent? I wonder if Strikeforce has first right of refusal? It'd be interesting if UFC is making a push. He's one of only a few fighters that SF has that would be good in the UFC, Mousasi and a few others included. I don't think Shields could beat Fitch, Alves or GSP, but it would be fun to watch him try! Throw in some Koscheck and/or Johnson -- and that is definitely a down right scary division.

World Extreme Cagefighting general manager Reed Harris told Cagewriter that Zuffa fighters will no longer be allowed to wear Hoelzer Reich clothing in their fights. (Zuffa owns botht the UFC and WEC.)

...

It does not matter what the iron cross, SS or any of the other symbols meant before they were used by Nazis, or how brief the association was with Nazi Germany. The evil committed by Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich ensured that those symbols will always come to symbolize the worst of humanity.

Somebody up there likes Dustin Hazelett.

The UFC welterweight wore disappointment when Karo Parisyan withdrew from their fight at UFC 106 last month, but said he trusted God's plan and everything happened for a reason.

He was spot on.

Multiple sources informed MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday that Hazelett will step in for an injured Carlos Condit to face Paul Daley in the co-main event of UFC 108, which takes place Jan. 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Hazelett, 23, has not fought since he suffered an ACL tear training for a bout with Ben Saunders at UFC 96 in March. After falling short to Josh Koscheck at UFC 82, he proved a serious threat to the division with two slick submission victories over Josh Burkman and Tamdan McCrory in 2008.

Hazelett's manager, Monte Cox, declined comment on his client's fight plans, as did Daley’s manager, Wad Alameddine.

The fill-in is just the latest change to the main card of UFC 108, which lost three proposed main event match-ups – Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort, Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez – to injury, not to mention main card fighter Gabriel Gonzaga.

Good man.

Bobby Lashley officially signs with Strikeforce, will fight in January...

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) heavyweight champion and undefeated mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Bobby Lashley has signed a multi-year agreement with STRIKEFORCE and will make his debut for the world championship MMA promotion at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida on Saturday, January 30.

The 6 foot 3 inch, 250 pound Lashley, also a former collegiate wrestling star for Missouri Valley College and member of The United States Army, will face an opponent that has not yet been determined during the live, SHOWTIME® telecast of STRIKEFORCE: Miami, the historic, first-ever STRIKEFORCE event in the state of Florida.

In his last MMA start on June 27, 2009, the 33-year-old pulverized and scored a first round (3:17) TKO on 6 foot 5 inch, 350 plus pound goliath Bob "The Beast" Sapp with a barrage of punches in Biloxi, Mississippi. The win brought Lashley's overall MMA record to 4-0.

"I'm looking forward to fighting for STRIKEFORCE and challenging myself by taking on some of the top heavyweights in MMA," said Lashley, a native of Junction City, Kansas and resident of Denver, Colorado.

After getting his feet wet with several matches in both the WWE Raw and SmackDown! shows in 2005 and 2006, Lashley captured the WWE United States Championship by defeating rival competitor "JBL." During this stint with the league and another in 2007, Lashley wrestled several top superstars, including The Big Show and John Cena.

Lashley made his MMA debut on December 13, 2008, earning a 41 second TKO over Joshua Franklin after Franklin sustained a cut that would not allow him to continue their fight.

Earlier this year, Lashley joined Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling. In his first appearance with the league on July 30, he helped tag team matchup partner Mick Foley defeat superstars Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash.

Tickets for STRIKEFORCE: Miami officially go on-sale tomorrow/Friday, December 11 at the BankAtlantic Center ticket office as well as online at www.Ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800)745-3000.

Doors at BankAtlantic Center open at 7 p.m. The first non-televised, preliminary card fight will begin at 8 p.m.

STRIKEFORCE in March 2009 signed a multi-year agreement to stage live MMA events on premium cable television network SHOWTIME. The promotion made its live, primetime debut on CBS with the "Fedor vs. Rogers" mega-fight that it co-promoted with M-1 Global on

Saturday, November 7 and generated 5.46 million viewers for the main event between the world's number one heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko, and superstar Brett "The Grim" Rogers.

About STRIKEFORCE
STRIKEFORCE (www.strikeforce.com) is a world-class mixed martial arts cage fight promotion which, on Friday, March 10, 2006, made history with its "Shamrock vs. Gracie" event, the first sanctioned mixed martial arts fight card in California state history. The star-studded extravaganza, which pitted legendary champion Frank Shamrock against Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Cesar Gracie at San Jose's HP Pavilion, played host to a sold-out, record crowd of 18,265. Since 1995, STRIKEFORCE has been the exclusive provider of martial arts programming for ESPN and, after 12 years of success as a leading, world championship kickboxing promotion, the company unveiled its mixed martial arts series with "Shamrock vs. Gracie." In May 2008, West Coast

Productions, the parent company of STRIKEFORCE, partnered with Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment (SVS&E), an entity created in 2000 to oversee all business operation aspects of the San Jose Sharks and HP Pavilion at San Jose.

someone I know in the business explained it like this...(paraphrasing)

"The UFC is like the New England Patriots..they get people on the cheap on the way up and at their prime. SF (and other orgs) are like the Oakland Raiders who over pay for has beens and names the UFC has built up."

If SF wants to succeed...and I hope they do. They need to stop over paying for "UFC Vets" and people the UFC doesn't want and build up their own stock. I get so irritated when I see "UFC vet" on a commercial...stop that shit...its not needed and instantly makes the org using it look second class.

You know if the UFC was about co-promotion here and there i'd like to see SF succeed, and it's not that i am rooting for them to fail but i'd rather see all the best guys in once place. I hate the crap that has gone on with Fedor not being in the UFC. You want as many superfights as possible and unfortunately in MMA that can be worse than boxing because of competing companies. Fedor will probably never fight in the UFC because they won't co-promote. If someone came up through SF everyone wanted to see GSP fight, it would never happen unless that figheter came to the UFC. I just wanna see the best guys in the world get in there and bang.. SF deserves to succeed but the bigger they get the more fractured the talent is going to be in MMA..

Pudzianowski is a marketing machine.
He is known in Poland by almost every single person, and he is known in the world as well.
The card was good and I think with Pudzianowski help we can have one of the best organizations in the world. So many celebrities came to see this guy. Only because of him mma got the media attention like never before. And funny thing - now everybody knows that there is something like mma. Nobody at my work knew it (mma) and now praobably 98% knows I can guarantee.
In the internet sites Pudzianowski is all over the place.

Even though he did not impressed me because of lack of technique and winning with a guy that have zero mma experience as well (kickboxing , boxing) and was almost 60 pounds lighter.
But he is learning and this guy is true pro and he is ambitious as hell.

So I think in 2 or 3 years KSW will be known by worldwide fans just like dream or strikeforce is.

Fuckin' A it will be fun. Win or lose, Yvel always brings a nasty fight.

Every fight starts standing and I can't think of any heavyweights in the UFC that have better stand up than Yvel. With that said, his ground game is nowhere close to hang with UFC's wrestlers/grapplers at HW.

As CEO of Thunder Promotions LLC, I have endeavored to promote the highest quality of fight entertainment. Toward that goal, my company has resisted any and all efforts to participate in fights that were less than above board and legitimate. With this event, Thunder Promotions LLC had expended a great deal of time, effort and money promoting an event that was to be headlined by the rap personality DMX. When he decided to back out of the event due to our refusal to fix his fight, it left Thunder Promotions LLC with little time to promote an event with a replacement headliner….. With this lesson learned, I can assure everyone and all that Thunder Promotions LLC will continue with a vengeance and the public can anticipate future events that we will promote that will overshadow any promotion in the State of Alabama and elsewhere.

I think it's a good move in terms of seeing good fights in the division, he'll get some explosiveness back. Oh yea, and since BJ is gonna move up it's best Diego sets up shop to stop him before he gets a final crack at GSP. I always thought he was cutting a ton of weight to make 155.. Remember this guy was at 185 on TUF.. But he really is not a contender in either division. Kos is way better than him now, Alves would beat him bad, Fitch already beat him and would do it again. Diego is kind of a gatekeeper..

Update: ‘Krazy Horse’ Arrested Again

Wednesday, January 20, 2010
by Sherdog.com Staff

Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett was arrested Monday on suspicion of felony aggravated battery, according to the Web site for the Bernalillo County, N.M., Sheriff’s Department.

The site says Bennett was arrested at 110 Lomas Boulevard, which is where he had been training at the FIT NHB gym.

FIT NHB representative Tom Vaughn told Sherdog.com via e-mail that Bennett was involved in an altercation with a teammate on Jan. 16.

“During routine sparring, tempers flared between Charles and the other fighter, and Charles ended up getting dropped by the larger training partner,” wrote Vaughn. “They were quickly broken up and Charles left the mat, got dressed and left the building. He returned about 15 minutes later, walked down to the training area and pulled out a heavy piece of steel he must have found in the parking lot and began attacking the other fighter (from behind) with intent to do serious damage. He was tackled by two other fighters and disarmed.

Vaughn said the incident occurred during a pro training session, though women and children were entering the building at the time for a regular class that followed and might have seen the attack. Vaughn said the assaulted fighter is “OK,” and that Bennett, who’d trained with FIT NHB off and on for six months, would no longer be a part of the gym’s fight team.

Bennett, 30, has a long history of run-ins with the law. He has been arrested for everything from traffic violations and drug distribution to kidnapping and battery upon a pregnant female. According to the Bernalillo County Sherriff’s Department, Bennett was arrested at 6:30 p.m. and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Oh, hell. I like Forrest, but this is not a good match for him.

A light-heavyweight match-up between former UFC lightweight champion Forrest Griffin (17-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) and recent Brazilian import Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (18-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC), otherwise known as "Lil Nog," is in the works for the recently rescheduled UFC 113 event in Montreal.

The fight was first reported Tuesday by Tatame.com and subsequently confirmed to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) by sources close to the situation.

Verbal agreements are in place, and contracts are expected to be finalized shortly.

Griffin shrugged off past demons by reversing a split-decision loss against former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz this past November at UFC 106. Three months prior, Griffin fell prey to the devastating hands of middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 101 and ran from the arena following a knockout loss.

After besting Quinton Jackson at UFC 86 for the 205-pound belt, Griffin failed to defend his title at UFC 92 when Rashad Evans stopped him with strikes in the third round.

Still, Griffin remains one of the UFC's most popular fighters with notable wins over Jackson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. He recently capitalized on his celebrity with the New York Times bestselling book, "Got Fight?"

Nogueira made his UFC debut on the undercard of Griffin's most recent win and stopped the highly touted prospect Luiz Cane in a "Knockout of the Night" performance.

The twin brother of former PRIDE and UFC champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Rogerio Nogueira was acquired by the UFC following the collapse of Affliction Entertainment this past August. He entered the octagon on a five-fight win streak and carries notable wins over Dan Henderson, Alistair Overeem, and Kazushi Sakuraba, among others.

The Nogueira brothers split time between training facilities in Rio de Janeiro and Los Angeles.

UFC 113 was originally slated for May 1 but was moved to May 8 when UFC president Dana White elected to sidestep a possible pay-per-view showdown with boxing's potential Floyd Mayweather vs. Shane Mosley superfight. UFC 113 is the promotion's third trip to Montreal after two prior sellouts at the 21,000-seat Bell Centre.

Griffin vs. Nogueira is expected for the main card of UFC 113. A light heavyweight rematch between champion Lyoto Machida and Rua is expected to headline the Canadian event.

Once again, Vera tells the truth - at least the way he sees it.

When asked on Friday whether or not Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell now represents a step down in competition, Vera answered bluntly during a Q&A session.

"Yes," said Vera, "I’m not lying. I would much rather fight somebody I’m supposed to lose to."

"I’m asking for the number three spot," Vera said. "I don’t give a damn who’s at number three. I can’t ask for number one, and I can’t ask for number two. That’s Machida and ‘Shogun.’ You’ve got to climb the ladder."

Feb 11, 2010 - An exciting welterweight match up between TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah and undefeated fighter Dong Hyun "Stun Gun" Kim (12-0-1-1) has been agreed upon for UFC 114 on May 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada. MMA Weekly has the report.

Welterweights are set to do battle on May 29 in Las Vegas at UFC 114 as "Ultimate Fighter" winner Amir Sadollah returns to action to face Korean Judoka Dong Hyun-Kim.

The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the fight, with both fighters verbally agreeing to the tilt. Bout agreements are expected soon.

Sadollah (3-1) has gone 2-1 in the UFC since winning TUF with back-to-back victories over Phil Baroni at UFC 106 and Brad Blackburn at UFC Fight Night 20. He seems to have stepped his game up to another level since the brutal defeat he suffered at the hands of Johny Hendricks at UFC 101.

However, "Stun Gun" figures to be his toughest test to date.

Undefeated so far in his UFC and MMA career, judoka Dong Hyun Kim was last seen in action at UFC 100 where he defeated TJ Grant via unanimous decision. Prior to that bout, Kim faced fellow judo ace Karo Parisyan at UFC 94. Though he lost a close split decision, the fight was later ruled a no contest as Parisyan tested positive for banned substances following the bout.

UFC 114 is expected to be headlined by the highly anticipated grudge match between TUF 10 coaches "Suga" Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Also likely to be on the card is an interesting light heavyweight fight featuring Forrest Griffin and Antonio Rogerio Noguiera.

This is a serious fight for Amir - it will be the one to show whether he really has the skills and talent (we already know he has the heart, but that doesn't win fights) to hang in the UFC. He's done reasonably well against wrestlers in the past, but a judoka is a different animal.

I though it was a bit soon for him to get a shot anyway. One fight back in the UFC AND BAM title shot. The state of the MW division is the main reason why. I think the UFC really just wants Anderson to be at 205 but he does not want to give up the belt at MW and there are certain fighters at 205 he is telling the UFC

"don't bother asking, it's a no"..

I don't think des meant it was "too soon" for him to get a title shot, he's got a medical suspension and he'd only have 3 weeks to get ready for the fight. Not a lot of time, and for that reason I say he uses his political savvy to get the fight moved back a month.

I want to see Chael fight Silva before I see Silva beat someone that stepped in at the last minute. UFC is "mostly" about quality fights, so they won't waste time plugging in someone if they can find a way to push this fight back a bit.

There's no doubt he earned it, but he's also earned the opportunity to take more than a 1 month training camp against one of the best fighters in the world. Without the proper time to train (at least several months) his slim chance to beat Silva goes down to none.

If he decides he can do it, so be it, but it would be a foolhardy decision.

They are announcing it so i guess it is a go..

"It's always tough when a top fighter like Vitor Belfort has to pull out of a big title fight, but we have found a high quality replacement," said UFC President Dana White. "Top contender Chael Sonnen was not available due to injuries sustained in his fight with Nate Marquardt, so top six middleweight Demian Maia will step in to fight for the title. Maia is an Abu Dhabi grappling champion, a five-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion, and he is 12-1 in MMA and coming off a win over Dan Miller at UFC 109. This is a recent interview with Page..

"They've said some things and done some things I don't agree with -- that's not the way I do business," Jackson said. "I'm a loyal person so I take care of people who take care of me, but people who don't take care of me, I don't take care of them. So I'm done with the UFC. They can't ask me for anymore favors. Nothing. I just want to finish my contract and get out of there, do my own thing"

I have said over and over here that i believe Page will win this fight but i am starting to waver on the pick honestly. Page's head is all over the place these days, not only that but recent pics of him show he is coming into this camp extremely out of shape. Page on point KO's Rashad IMO, but i am having serious doubts he is going to be on point come May 29th..

Pudzianowski gonna fight on 7th May with Yusuke Kawaguchi and then on 21st may he is suppose to meet Tim sylvia.
At least he will get mma fighters now to see if he can make any impact.

he is working his ass off, at least what I can get from the media and him

He is confident as always and even cocky at times. He knows he can be hit but he says Yusuke won't knock him out with a smile. In a meaning it's impossible like he would be made of steel. :)

Several San Diego police swarmed in on UFC bad boy War Machine last night -- and threw a spit bag on his head -- after cops say the dude assaulted someone with a deadly weapon.

TMZ has learned Machine -- which is the fighter's legal name -- was arrested outside a bar called Thruster's Lounge around 11 pm.

Law enforcement sources tell us Machine and another male were fighting with bouncers -- and when cops tried to approach the situation, War Machine took off running.

Eventually, cops caught up with the 28-year-old -- threw him in handcuffs, and for some reason, put a spit bag over his head ... which is generally applied when the perp gets a little too aggressive with his oral fluids.

Machine was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon -- though it's unclear what the weapon is. He's currently being held in a SD jail.

From bloodyelbow: Nate Quarry gets facial reconstruction surgery:

"Got screwed in the face 13 times yesterday! Yep, facial reconstruction surgery. Good times."

"My cheekbones were broken loose and had to be screwed down to keep them in place. Then a mesh made from titanium is laid down with some bone growth material over the top of it. That accelerates the whole healing process. Screws will be permanent. As is the titanium mesh they laid down."

I just barely heard about this "released" bullshit and now there's this too...

“We offered Paul a six-figure contract to fight Fedor, but he turned it down,” said Coker in a statement released in September of 2009. “His decision is understandable considering Fedor’s level of skill but, at the same time, Paul didn’t really fit into our plans. He’s been a solid journeyman fighter and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

1) Strikeforce has the dumbest fucking brain trust ever.
2) Dana had no reason to let Paul go unless he truely believes Kongo/Struve are on the bottom of the UFC's list. Those were good damn fights with lots of heart. They should have put Paul vs Gonzaga, loser goes home. Sure, HW is stacked, but as for putting good fighters on cards this was a garbage decision.

Strikeforce had syphilis before they signed on with M-1, that's the only way to rationalize them willfully putting themselves in this position.

Mariusz though is the lightest I can remember for a long time. He accualy can make HW limit.

Pudzianowski is pissed on Sylvia for some unpleasant words :D So he will make everything that's possible to win.
But I think watching the fight that was 2 weeks ago [Pudzian vs kawaguchi] Sylvia can take this by experience. Mariusz do not have that striking power and when he will get all hyped and the blood will start to fill his muscles it will be difficult for him 1. get oxygen 2. make his strikes powerfull.
I think The Pole will want this fight down but Sylvia will pobably survive and will knock Pole out at the end of 1st or at the begining of 2nd round.

LOL! Yet again, Coker talking about future matches before the fighters actually fight their current matches or sign contracts. Knowing it's going to be on PPV, where wrestlers have a huge draw, you can expect they will try get a % of the buys before agreeing to the fight. Further, Coker has a shitty habit of talking about how great everything looks on paper, but he fails to see that in fights anything can happen (Hendo getting smothered, Fedor getting submitted).

The best part is, that only the WWE fans will shell out for this and they are only doing a 300K buy-rate...cut that in half and add the small number of Strikeforce fans and you've got 200K buys if they're lucky. Add in the contracts and percentage profits, and hopefully this will be the start of the end of Strikeforce because the joke is getting stale.

Oh yeah Diego is gonna get crushed again. His career might be over soon if this loss is as bad as i suspect.. I really think making 155 was horrible to his body and that's why he left for WW again. But he is not skilled or big enough to do damage at 170.. He got the hell beat out of him by an up and comer at UFC 114.. He should try to cut to 155 again more efficiently..

Just to further my point about Jones, he has a chance to establish himself as one of the great LHW's ever. The kind of run that GSP and Anderson are on right now at WW and MW is what he can do at LHW with the title around his waist. He should stay focused on that. He said he was in the 231 range at camp, that is the normal range for a big LHW. I know when Randy was training for Gonzaga he said rolling with Forrest is like rolling with a HW since he is up over 240 right now.. Maybe Bones fights at HW in the 240 range but we know the Brock's and Shane's of the world are cutting to 265 from like 275-280.. Hopefully he was just shooting the shit here and not seriously considering HW.

I have no doubt Jackson felt bad watching Diego get fucked up by BJ, I would love to see Jackson get Diego to go back to lightweight...but first let's beat up Thiago!

Huh... Antoni Hardonk retired and I missed it completely.

Antoni Hardonk (8-6 MMA, 4-4 UFC) discusses his decision to retire from fighting and focus on training other fighters with Ben Fowlkes:

"In your twenties, you don't think about the future as much. You do whatever you feel like doing and you don't think about it. In your thirties, the future is more of a consideration. For me, I'm a good competitor, I have some talent, but I can't retire on that. I can survive, but that's basically it. So I decided I had to move on."

In April, Hardonk opened his own gym – Dynamix Martial Arts in Santa Monica, Calif. – and began devoting more of his energy to teaching. Soon he had other UFC fighters like Jared Hamman and Vladimir Matyushenko training with him, and shortly thereafter fellow Dutchman Stefan Struve called him up, looking for a new boost in his training.

he was fighting a noname guy . Well the guy had a name on a letter R as i remember. And at the same time the guy was me and me was him. It's like I once saw him fight lesnar and once i was under Lesnar. he mounted the guy pretty easily esp. when the guy was way smaller. And I remember many times that Brock was mounting me and I just covered not to get pounding.

All in all it happened that the guy [me] swept Brock and started to choke brock and Brock did nothing and I've heard commentary that "He is improving this position .." And I was trying to choke Lesnar with all my force.

Ref stopped the bout and Lesnar was done , but he stand up and was dizzy and wobbly and bloody. It did not stopped him from showing the middle finger to the fans, he did not knew where he was but his middle fingers were there.

Okay then he walked off the cage and was walking near the cage [where camera men are] And some fans were screaming at him and hitting him. Brock kicked one of the fans and demolished.
he walked on and Herring was in front of him like on a walk with his girlfriend ...

Brock pushed him or whatever i can't remember but Heath turn to him and KOed Brock Lesnar and that was it.

few thing might be after it but i know that heath stopped Brock for real

WW, winner probably gets the next crack at GSP. It was stupid of Dana to say "winner of Fitch/Alves gets GSP" when their ass beatings feel so fresh in most people's minds. It won't sell like Sheilds vs GSP.

Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight Kenny Florian and Evan Dunham just might face each other next year.

Florian agreed to take on Dunham, possibly on Feb. 5, although official bout contracts haven't been signed yet. Florian made the announcement Thursday night on ESPN's MMA Live show, which employs him as an analyst.

Dunham and Florian are among the top-12 lightweights in the USA TODAY/SB Nation consensus rankings, though they're coming off decision losses.

While both men have a broad array of skill, neither fighter is known for wrestling, which suggests that their fight should flow well rather than devolve into a slow grind.

Looks like Bader may be ducking Jones..

"I don't know if Jones is going to fight Bader. We tried to put that fight together, but Bader has some stuff going on. Jon Jones might be fighting somebody else, I don't know how that's going to go."

Screeeeeech! That's the sound of the Jones vs. Bader hype train locking them up as the tracks seem to cutoff in the not-too-distant future. UFC President Dana White confirms an earlier report that both sides were presented the light heavyweight match-up, but some issues inside the Bader camp may prevent it from coming to fruition. Does that leave Jones as the sole number one contender to the light heavyweight throne? Or does he need to clear one more hurdle to earn that spot?

I would not be shocked if he is ducking Bones.. Bader may think he is close to a title shot himself and a bad loss to Bones will drop him way back. If Bones gets the belt in the next year then everyone has to go through him but for now, he is way up there on the "Duck if you can" list..

Happened to Marvin Hagler for years until he became champ..

by the way here is the story, the reason the fight might not happen is because Bader is getting married, and he doesn't know if he will have enough time after the honeymoon to train for the fight in Feb.

A reported light heavyweight clash between two of the division's most promising prospects is still set to go down at UFC 126 on Feb. 5, this in spite of UFC President Dana White's comments at the UFC 120 Fan Expo on Friday.

Said White: “I don't know if [Jon] Jones is going to fight [Ryan] Bader. We tried to put that fight together, but Bader has some stuff going on. Jon Jones might be fighting somebody else. I don't know how that's going to go.”

A report filed by MMAfighting.com from London, however, has contradicted those statements. Reporter Ariel Helwani spoke with both Jones' agent Malki Kawa and UFC officials, and both sources have confirmed that the bout is still on for Superbowl weekend.

Vinicius Quieroz tests positive for Stanozolol, released from UFC

Following a UFC 120 preliminary card loss to Rob Broughton, Brazilian heavyweight Vinicius Quieroz (5-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) tested positive for the banned substance Stanozolol.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the finding with the UFC's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Marc Ratner.

UFC 120 took place Oct. 16 in London, England. Without a regulatory body in place to oversee the event, the UFC acted as its own regulatory body for the event.

Main event fighters Michael Bisping and Yoshihiro Akiyama were both screened, as were six fighters selected on a random basis. Quieroz was the only fighter to test positive.

According to the UFC's U.K. president, Marshall Zelaznik, Quieroz forfeited an undisclosed discretionary bonus from the UFC and has also been released from the promotion. The UFC will also relay the findings to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which could affect Quieroz's ability to gain a license to fight in the U.S.

Ratner said that the UFC is concerned with the use of performance-enhancing drugs in MMA and will continue to police its fighters at events that lack an overseeing commission.

"The UFC enforces the same rules and regulations as the Nevada State Athletic Commission and takes this responsibility to the fighters and the sport very seriously," Ratner said.

Stanozolol, which is often sold under the brand name Winstrol, is a synthetic anabolic steroid derived from testosterone that is usually prescribed to treat anaemia and hereditary angioedema in humans, though it's also available for veterinary uses. The drug is popular in the bodybuilding world, though MMA fighters such as Phil Baroni, Chris Leben, Kimo Leopoldo and Tim Sylvia have tested positive for it in the past.

A 6-foot-7 Chute Boxe product, Quieroz struck an imposing figure over Broughton at UFC 120. The Brazilian came out throwing heavy leather, though Broughton weathered the early storm.

With "Spartan" visibly fatigued, Broughton changed the flow of the fight in a gutsy performance and eventually locked in a fight-ending rear-naked choke in the third round.

The loss came in Quieroz's UFC debut and snapped a four-fight win streak.

UFC hall of famer Dan Severn (Pictured) needed just 93 seconds to submit Tom Benesocky with a first-round arm-triangle choke at King of the Cage “48” on Sunday at the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The 52-year-old heavyweight has won 17 of his last 19 fights, including seven in a row.

Severn dodged wild punches from Benesocky, pressed the clinch and landed in half guard following a takedown. From there, he worked to the body and set up the submission.

St. Pierre defended his tile against Josh Koscheck at UFC 124 in December and will have 4 months to get ready for his next title defense. Shields is on a 15 fight win streak and earned his title shot with a win over Martin Kampmann at UFC 121.

According to the Columbian, former UFC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen has plead guilty to federal money laundering charges:

An Oregon real estate agent has pleaded guilty to money laundering in connection with a mortgage fraud case involving Vancouver-based Lighthouse Financial Group, which also did business under the name Crown Point Financial Services.

Chael Sonnen, 33, of West Linn, Ore., entered the plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Portland. He will be sentenced March 28. The maximum sentence is 20 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

According to a news release, Sonnen acted as the real estate agent in a transaction involving a home in Portland, and submitted a false letter and sales agreement instructing the title company to disburse $69,000 to a contractor for plumbing repairs. However, in a deal arranged by Lighthouse employees, $65,000 of the money was actually kicked back to the buyer.

I wanna see Jones stay at LHW. He has a chance to dominate that class for years and years. And the HW division is still not that deep. 205 is the deepest in all of MMA.. Jones is big. But he is not Brock Lesnar big where it is impossible for him to get down to 205..
