Early on it seems the top 8 in West is weaker this season. Two teams are in the top 8 at .500 in the West, whilst the Pacers are over .500 and are 8th in the East.

Where can i get stats that show east vs west in terms of head to head wins?

Alot of teams are battling with injury and its very early on, but i just thought it was interesting.

The problem with the West now is that their are no championship caliber defenses to really challenge the Lakers this year. The only team who can even make that case would probably be Denver and this is a farcry. I'm sorry Denver fans, no matter how much you want to think your team is a defensive juggernaut, they simply aren't. Too many knuckleheads on that team will cost you in the playoffs, and George Karl is not a good defensive coach at all. If you re-watch game 6 of the 2009 WCF, Carmelo is prolly the nuggest poorest defender on the floor.

Yeah the Nets are a shining example of how good the east is.

No, the East is the weaker conference, believe me.

believe me.
Why?

Why?

Shall we revisit New York and New Jersey? The rest of the Conference is at .500 (Atlanta and Boston excluded). Would you rather have Chicago, Indiana, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Detroit as currently constructed or Oklahoma City, Utah, San Antonio, and New Orleans?

Oklahoma City and Utah are no better than Detroit or Philly, and New Orleans is god-awful even with Chris Paul in the lineup. Worse than either New York or New Jersey, to be honest.

Toronto and Chicago have been playing considerably better ball than San Antonio so far, as well.

there are no title contenders in the east at all, only one in the west: the lakers.

title contenders are teams that you can put against any other NBA team and say, with relative confidence, that they'll beat that team in 7 games, under pressure, in the finals. you cant be a title contender just because you can make it out of the east.

cavs cant beat magic, magic cant beat lakers, and boston is the only "wild card" since they werent 100% healthy last year, though they arent doing too hot this year.

still, cavs/boston/magic can have a cakewalk through the eastern conference and catch the lakers off guard.
