Don't have links off hand but i'd thought i'd post this while the game was still on. Wally today cracked back again about not starting. He called out sprewell, not by name, but bitching about why would you start a guy and give him all the shot attempts thats shooting 41? percent and not start a guy shooting over %50 (him).

Wally also mentioned that Flip told him when he entered the leauge its going to be 10 times harder for him bc he's a white player. Thought that was kind of weird for a coach to bring that up.

Not really sure i disagree though, i think a lot of players have the same Larry Bird mentality when it comes to going against a white guy.

I think I disagree. If you can play you can play. Sounds like Wally is belly-aching that he didn't get to start because he's a poor little white boy. He's always been an idiot.

I don't think it has anything to do with management, i think other players maybe go at you alittle harder, try to feed the ball in to the guy your defending alittle more, etc...

Until theres a new batch of white players who can REALLY play i think it will be like that.

Everybody's going to have preconceived notions in any field, and basketball, just because it's a black dominated sport, isn't any different. I'm sure a couple of teams went at Ginobili a couple of times when he came into the league, and when he started embarassing them they learned their lesson. You look for weaknesses and playing the percentages helps. if you think a white guy is slow you try to go by him, if you think he can't jump you try to go over him. If he does his job you don't try that again. If you continue to go at a guy or don't pass to a teammate just because his skin is white you'll find yourself on the bench pretty quick.

Wally has had problems with his teammates in the past due to his selfishness. If he were a shining beacon of professionalism and team spirit I might think otherwise. Consider the source. Guys who can't play, black or white, don't last long in this league.
