If you think any of the LOTR movies are boring or shitty then you're in a very small minority. And when I say very small minority, I'm talking about the the whole world. The LOTR movies are some of the best movies of all time. Do any of you haters have imaginations?

The first two LOTR were shitty, boring, and overrated, but ROTK was a masterpiece and one of the best movies of all time.

I enjoyed Avatar quite a bit. As many have said the story has been done before, but the visuals were something i had never seen before. Worth the 7 bucks.

If Gigli had amazing 3d cgi visuals everyone here would think that movie was worth the 7 bucks.

How does it take any imagination to watch a movie? Read the books instead of defending one man's interpretation of them as the end-all.

The first two LOTR were shitty, boring, and overrated, but ROTK was a masterpiece and one of the best movies of all time.

Especially the three endings, one of which included hilariously obvious midgets as stand-ins for hobbits. What's not to like?

I'm just fuckin' with you. You can hate Avatar and/or LOTR However, I do think if you hate Avatar or LOTR then its your loss. Movies like Avatar and LOTR take you more out of reality and away from your problems for 2 to 3 hours than say movies like The Godfather or Brokeback Mountain.

I was not looking forward to seeing this movie at all it looked more of a sci-fi version of Ferngully, but because I love my husband dearly I went with him on Sunday. We checked it out in 3D, which was super awesome (the last 3D movie I caught was Captain EO back in the day at Disneyworld).

I ended up really liking the movie. The effects were super cool and even the story line grabbed my attention right off the bat. Overall I would totally go see this again.

Using a clip from a mediocre sequel is not going to help you win a debate in my opinion.

Your shitty taste in movies isn't going to help you win a debate either. In my opinion.

Star Trek, District 9, Moon, I Love You Man, and The Hangover are all shitty movies? All of those movies would be in my top 10 best/favorite movies of 2009.

Dont argue with contrarians. Their entire existence is an oxymoron in and of itself.

So I was kinda skeptical about the movie at first. My friend didn't wanna see it at all because he thought it was gonna suck so I had to convince him forever to finally go. Yesterday, me and him as well as my girlfriend went to go see it and HOLY SHIT, that movie was fucking awesome. Definitely the best visuals I have ever seen in a movie ever, period. And the story itself was pretty great. I must say, another masterpiece from Cameron. :tu And I really don't give a shit if some indie movie loving douche comes in here telling me 500 Days of Summer kicks this movie's ass.

Avatar ftw.

So you went in not expecting to be blown away by the visuals?

Some ppl expect too much of a movie. I looked at it as escapism and enjoyed the 3D very much - it was by far the best 3D experience I've had in a theatre. The story line wasn't the best, but there have been plenty worse.

The fact that it's already over $1B in global earnings mean there are a lot of people out there enjoying it for whatever reason. That doesn't make it a great movie, but it certainly was fun to watch. Can't imagine it having the same impact on a small screen or without the 3D.

Mediocre doesnt begin to even remotely describe that...travesty.

I'm pretty sure James Cameron could care less about his movie being compared to a crappy new age Disney cartoon movie. Pocahontas is not a good Disney cartoon movie. James Cameron is probably more concerned about all the money he's getting from Avatar.

"seen the story before"

:lmao that is gotta be the stupidest reason not to see or like a movie. 99% of hollywood movies have already been done before dumbasses.

Avatar is a kick ass movie with the best 3D action effects ever. end of story.
