Marc Gasol>Oden.

2nd round pick (practically a garbage pick by the Lakers) outplaying a 1st overall pick.

Tlong. Take it easy on yourself.

Hate is strong. Oden held his own there. 13 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. The question I want to ask is, how did Hasheem "no offense" Thabeet get 9 points?

Thabeet was doing good with gasol.. basically gasol was double and he would just skip it to thabeet for a easy lay in or dunk... that combo and the blazers looking like a dleague team paid off for thabeet and the grizz...only oden and martell seemed to be playing the hardest for the full game roy didn't seem to until it was too late.

Memphis won that trade according to some.

Thabeet was projected at best to be Dikembe 2.0

He gets blocks and would be a defensive presense. His scoring..is not going to be there so that's a good question. how did he get 9 pts. lol

Until Marc makes a couple of All-Star teams, not even close.

Oden is a bust. Yes, dosen't his contract expire this offseason? It will be interesting to see what the Blazers decide to do with him.

so the kg trade is ok cause jefferson has made an all star team? what he hasnt. he wont this yr

Marc Gasol's success does nothing to justify that trade. At the time, he was still a completely unproven 2nd round throw in that nobody projected to be as good as he is right now.

No, the KG trade is okay because the Celtics gave up a proven young player and two first round pick players with at least some measure of known potential.

Just because Marc Gasol took a piping hot shit on Oden doesn't mean he's a bust. I think.

Oden is playing very well this year. If he can stay healthy and continue to work on his game he is going to be a beast. He is obviously not going to be a great offensive player, but he can show flashes of dominance around the rim, on both ends of the court.

Blazers should bring Sam Bowie back to "mentor" Oden. Both have been gigantic busts, so they'll have a lot to talk about.

Oden, Bynum & Lopez are the future of NBA centers. None of them are Busts. Definitely not Oden

Oden is the definition of a bust. The numbers he puts up is what a 2nd rounder gives you, not a 2nd overall pick. He has all the classic attributes of a center who's a bust. No passion for his chosen sport, the typical hands of stone, absolutely no offensive game, nice guy, injury prone, etc.

All I know is that carrao45 and several others have some nice pictures of definitive busts.

Al Jeff dropping 15 and 10 on a bottom feeder team during his contract year is "proven"? Eric Dampier dropped 12 and 12 during his contract year. Would anyone in his right mind trade him for KG back then?

Marc Gasol = Euroleague MVP at 23 years old. Darko Milicic and Andrea Bargnani never had that accolade but they were consensus high lottery pick.

two first round pick players with at least some measure of known potential.
Sebastian Telfair and Ryan Gomes? Laughable argument. Wanna know which pick Kwame Brown was taken at?

Don't forget the 11 million cap space that LA had given the Grizz. Something that the Celtics didn't provide for the Wolves btw.

Fact of the matter is, as time goes and Marc Gasol continues to develop, more and more people will see what Grizzlies fans were seeing since the trade happened:The trade was good for the future of their franchise.

16/11/1.5 as a 22 years old. Who among young bigs was more proven than him?

LOL. Gasol best season in the Euroleague: 3 points, 1 rebound, 7:23 minutes per game.

You have no idea what you're talking about. (And Bargnani and Milicic were consensus high lottery pick to who? Milicic was a bench warmer for a small European team.)

Gasol had a breakout season, but at the moment of the trade he was a career underachiever who had to move from Barcelona to a small club in order to find playing time and was having some good games.

Huh? How can you be so ignorant? Of course they did, Theo Rattliff's expiring contract. How do you think they'd match salaries if the other guys were on their rookie deals? :bang

Plus, dont' forget that the Celtics gave back to the Wolves their 2010 first round pick (that they used to get OJ Maio = Kevin Love + Mike Miller).

How can you even compare both trades?

You guys figuring this shit out now? Oden has been a bust since the day he was drafted and people figured out he was 64 years old and damaged goods. Furthermore, whenever he fouls somebody (basically every 2 minutes), he has this deer-in-headlights look where you just don't know if you should feel sorry for the guy or just laugh at how dumb he is.

Only tschlong can get excited about this dude.
