The 13th man in green proved to be the difference but for all the wrong reasons. After a penalty for too many men in the dying seconds gave Damon Duval a second chance, the Montreal kicker converted from 33 yards out with no time on the clock to give the Montreal Alouettes a 28-27 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 97th Grey Cup at MacMahon Stadium in Calgary.
Last year, the Alouettes had the chance to win the Grey Cup in front of their fans at Olympic Stadium in Montreal but watched as the Calgary Stampeders walk away with the trophy. This year, they rallied from a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit to claim their first title since 2002.

REGINA - For a moment, it appeared the Saskatchewan Roughriders had won the Grey Cup.

There were just seconds left on the clock in the championship game against the Montreal Alouettes on Sunday, and the Riders were up 27-25 when Montreal kicker Damon Duval missed a field goal attempt.
Cheers erupted from about 650 people watching the game at Casino Regina. The crowd was on its feet, there were hugs all around.
But there was a flag on the play - Saskatchewan had too many men on the field. Shock spread through the crowd.
Duval would get a second chance and this time he would not miss. The Montreal kicker made the 33-yard field goal on the final play of the game to give the Alouettes a 28-27 comeback victory over the Roughriders.
"It was horrible," said Riders fan Michelle Donda.
"At first everybody thought we had it and I said 'There's a flag' and everybody said 'Oh please, no.' What a disappointment in the end. I'm speechless."
Saskatchewan won the Grey Cup in 2007. Many people questioned whether the team would make it to the championship this year, partly because Darian Durant was in his first year as the starting quarterback.
Montreal was a heavy favourite to win the Grey Cup. They had both the best offence and defence in the league. But the West Division champion Roughriders had the so-called the 13th man - the fans - on their side. McMahon Stadium in Calgary was awash in Riders green.
