View Full Version : Best PF/C That Never Plays

In years past there have been a myriad of players who just can't crack the rotation, because they are either not 'quite' as good as the player in front of them or because of having an inferior contract, and therefore trying to get value for someone at the expense of developing/utilizing superior talent. Sometimes, a player is just in a coach's dog house, for no 'apparent' reason.

I ask this, as I haven't been able to watch as much basketball this season as I would have liked.

Who are the best PF/C's that just don't get to play, or are underplayed based on their contributions?

Please explain why you believe this.

I am trying to get a feel for what is out there.

I am assuming the dj mbenga comment is a joke... But what about DeAndre Jordan? Is he really any good? I don't believe I have ever seen him play.

Deandre Jordan's no joke, he's a double-double machine if he gets PT. Last year he started a few games when Kaman, Camby, and Z-Bo were all out, and he managed to put up some monster numbers. I definitely agree with that one. My other honorable mentions would be louis admunson from the suns, and brendan haywood.

I've always thought that David Lee could beast in a good system around him.

I like Lee's game a lot, but I consider him a known commodity at this point, much like Paul Millsap.

Do you think the Clippers (in their infinite wisdom) are looking to clear room for Jordan by getting rid of Camby/Kaman, or get rid of DJ all together?

yes dj mbenga was a joke. But on a real note, I agree DeAndre Jordan maybe

This one is easy....RASHO!

Agreed on DeAndre - kid will be a beast when unleashed if he can cut his foul rate.

Haywood plays. Instead, I'd say JaVale McGee, who looks raw but will develop given playing time.

JJ Hickson, now that Snaq has come back, and Mareese Speights when he returns from injury.

Pavel Podkolzin... We never used his dominant size, blocking, strength, and his post game that is better than Dho

Fuck Avery and his bullshit.

I thought Rasho was getting minutes now. Oh well wonder how Hadaddi would do if he were on another team where the coach would actually try the guy out.

I am less interested in guys who have never played versus guys who have actually shown stuff on the court...

Gortat?

jacobdrj

Again, I think Gortat qualifies as a known commodity. He was a highly prized FA last off season, and was going to start for some team had Orlando not matched (after the Turkgalu thing).

How about Blatche? if he doesn't qualify, I think Brendan Wright will be a solid contributor if he comes back from injury.

I don't know anything about either. Can you tell me more?

Blatche had some potential when he got playing time this year, but when Antawn came back, his minutes were limited and his stats really dropped down. If the Wizards want to build a future, Andray Blatche has that ability to be the next big guy that can consistently put up really good numbers. As for Wright, Brendan Wright and Anthony Randolph both lots of potential imo, however, the difference is that Wright right now is plagued with injuries.

Yao Ming anyone?

"J-Peezy" Josh Powell. The lakers secret weapon. And no, this is not a joke.

jacobdrj

Powell seems like a tweener in the same vein as Brandon Bass. Would that be accurate?

Actually, you are the mother of sucking.

And by the way,Rasho is doing more then OK, when he gets a chance.

anthony Randolph by far

Maybe Ike Diogu. I remember he put up like back to back 40 pt games when he got pt though I'm not sure if that was just lucky or if he really is skilled

In Rasho's defence: who doesn't suck in Toronto?

Rasho is a known non-commodity...

Carl Landry could put up some good numbers if his minutes went from 25 to 35
IMO
He's at 16ppg 6rpg 55 FG% right now as a reserve.

Carl Landry, Brandon Bass, Ryan Anderson (now with Shard back), Marcin Gortat, DeAndre Jordan

DeAndre Jordan is a very athletic man but I would hesitate to call him a basketball player. Ditto for Mbenga.

Diogu is too dumb to play at this level. He's a poor man's Drew Gooden.

Landry is playing 26 mpg, he plays enough. I'd answer Ersan Ilyasova, but he's already starting. Speights is going to be a very good offensive player, but Philly is aware of that as well. Brandon Wright is a similar situation, although he's more of a project.

I'd say that out of Bass and Gortat one of them is going to be the best big man that plays very little.
