Okafor, Livingston, earn Rookie of the Month honors

NEW YORK (TICKER) -- Forward Emeka Okafor of the Charlotte Bobcats and guard Shaun Livingston of the Los Angeles Clippers were named NBA Rookies of the Month on Thursday.
Okafor led all rookies in rebounding in April, averaging 12.4 per game, to receive the Eastern Conference award. He also ranked second in scoring at 16.5 points and third in blocks at 1.45.
The 6-10 Okafor scored a season-high 29 points and added 14 rebounds in a 119-107 loss to Toronto on April 1. The next day, he had 28 and 16 in a 112-97 setback to Chicago.

Livingston was honored as the Western Conference Rookie of the Month as he averaged 11 points, 7.4 assists and 1.4 steals.
Livingston recorded 17 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and six steals in a 104-102 win over Charlotte on April 5 and added a career-high 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds in a 125-124 double-overtime loss to San Antonio.
Other nominees included Josh Childress of Atlanta, Chris Duhon and Ben Gordon of Chicago, Nenad Krstic of New Jersey, J.R. Smith of New Orleans, Dwight Howard of Orlando, Andre Iguodala of Philadelphia and Sebastian Telfair of Portland.
