What do the spurs have to do, limit, improve etc to be able to defeat the Celtics tonight?

I have no idea.

These are two inconsistent teams this year, it is anybody's game.

But as a wild guess, I think this game will be won or lost at the point guard position.

Have both sides show up..defense and offense. When this team gels, they are one of the most lethal in the league...when they don't....oof..

They are fully capable of beating Boston. Either way, i'm going to enjoy this game because no matter who wins the other teams fans are going to shit bricks in panic.

Spurs fans I will give you since this is a spurs message board afterall.

Celt fans...there isn't enough of us here on this board to have an epic meltdown. I set no expectations for this season so I won't freak if we win or lose. Lng isn't a meltdown type.

not this one. This is an early December game, and while, of course, you want to win, if we lose, it means nothing. We just got everyone back healthy, and that's good enough for me. It's going to take time for us all to gel again. Win or lose, I just hope we don't get embarrassed.

your act is really getting kinda old, Cubby. Are you a Lakers fan, or a Spurs hater?

Ginobili and Jefferson are gonna have to be running on all cylinders, Jefferson is gonna have to contain Paul, our bench is going to have to outwork theirs, and Tony/Duncan are gonna have to be Tony/Duncan.

Basically what we should do to win any game lol

It's early December. Fans who have meltdowns at this part of the season are over-emotional, reactionary, ignorant dumbasses.

The Spurs have to win the rebounding battle (and they should be able to do that). That's their first priority. If they allow Boston to outscore them on 2nd chance points, they can be into a world of pain.

We're a means to an end for Cubby. Throw it in the way-back machine, (say '05- 1st round '08) and he anoints the Spurs feet. Prolly just wants to get a rise out of us for a game that actually matters (somewhat).

I see what you mean, but this game doesn't matter. Games don't matter in San Antonio till March or April...we know that.

have you ever seen the movie Celtic Pride? They would have to steal Rondo and Garnett and hide them

Yeah...it didn't even look like he was going for the board.

That looked like a solid, thought-out tip-in.

As I've said, they'd have to start by winning the rebounding battle in order to have a chance and make the game competitive. 55-32 in rebounds and they still lost.

Rebounds don't matter when you keep giving the ball to the other team.

Meh, only 6 more turnovers. That was to be expected, the Celtics are much better causing turnovers than the Spurs.

The Spurs got 18 more offensive rebounds and took 15% more shots.

Free throws would have helped... 7-17.

But at the end of it, the Celtics defense > Spurs defense. Spurs had more rebounds, got more shots and possessions, they just couldnt convert like the Celtics did.

It's basically the same everywhere. Fanbases are prone to be reactionary and melodramatic.
