He was fantastic down the stretch. If Bonner gets any minutes over him and I was a spurfan, I'd be pissed. I'm a little pissed SA lost, though.

What did the Lakers trade the pick to the Knicks for again? was it cash?

He only had 11 rebounds because he plays next to Matt Bonner.

:lol That helps, also playing against one of the worst rebounding teams in the league.

Nice. A thread in which Laker fan gives props to one of our players...

I'll admit, he looked pretty good tonight. I would run him more with TD... Spurs looked much better when they both were on the floor at the same time.

Agreed. Blair's got tha ugly, hustle game that can clean up any misses thrown up by Duncan's finesse (more or less) game.

IronMexican

So this is what it's come to, spurfan? "At least the spurs lost to a team better than the Lakers"? You can do better than that.

12-03-2009, 11:15 PM
Did we say that in this thread?

Admittedly, I high-tailed it outta that OTHER section after the loss, so I can't vouch for THEM...

IronMexican

No, but I saw it in another thread. I thought I was still in that thread. I'm not gonna find that quote. Fuck that. It's in another thread made by us.

Great game from him, he needs to rebound with two hands though...aside from the basket in the own basket he also almost lost a few others trying to grab the board with one hand. He's also lost a few over the season that way.

OK..for all the Spurs fans who didn't say this..thanks for the compliment, IM...Blair is looking great, and so help me god if he doesn't get more minutes soon I'm gonna go fucking postal. Dude should start with Timmy.

Blair should start. Now that I was able to compose myself, Boston is clearly playing better ball than us. Looks like we underestimated all the new faces that our team has. As a result, POP is struggling to see the right combinations.

I dunno. He certainly needs more PT, but I have no problem w/ him continuing to come off the bench for Dice.

Mason was outstanding in his 3 attempt

Hey mate, You won't hear any shit talking from me. Both LA and Boston are a lot better than the Spurs right now.

Always good to see what other fans think of some of our players. Especially someone like Blair who should be getting more court time.

FkLA
12-03-2009, 11:22 PM
Its too far in the season for that 'too many new faces' excuse, at this point in time the Spurs simply arent good enough. Fortunately for us there's still alot of season and room for improvement. Manu on the bench late in the game is inexplicable though, still scratching my head over that shit.

Blair played well tonight, but he is still very far from doing this on a consistent basis. Most of his success stemmed from "energy" and "hustle" and that is not something that always translates.

He certainly has shown a lot of good things and he needs minutes to grow.

So who else on the team is showing that hustle for them to play ahead of him. Name one fucking player that is consistently bringing that.

Why not start Blair in the first quarter because that is something the Spurs need to start games. They always start like shit.

I do agree with you though that you can't rely on hustle as that doesn't always work out every game or is consistent, but you never know starting Blair might help the team a lot and he might even become a lot better player if he is allowed to play through his mistakes.

DPG21920

Because over the long haul, McDyess should be better on a consistent basis next to Duncan. I am not opposed to having Blair start, but I don't think it would theoretically be the best option.

You got beat, simple as that. You could have won just as readily. Aside from Perkins, the Celtics were scattered, though Rondo is a cold blooded little shit who'd slice your throat in an instant. He's lethal, and understand the pro game.

Pop put you into position to win, you just lost instead.

Keeping Mason on the floor instead of Manu seemed a bit odd. However if Mason had knocked down a few of his 3 point attempts you could have won.

Pops is a little like Phil we don't always understand them but who can argue with their rings right?

Phil will refuse to call a timeout during a 10-0 run against us. It drives me crazy. Phil also loves Luke for whatever reason.

Spurs and Lakers fans have been spoiled the past 10 years compared to so many other franchises in the league. So we should be able to take the bad years when there is so many great seasons.

By the way Blair is a bad motherfucker.

What? The exact opposite is true. Over the long haul, Antonio has no where near the upside as Blair. If these early season games are just the throwaways Pop is treating them as then he shouldn't be playing Antonio very much and he should be playing Blair.

McDyess is a known commodity who isn't going to get much better. Blair on the other hand is likely to get much better and be a hell of a contributor. He woudln't be the first undersized power power forward to help the Spurs to a title. Malik Rose anyone?

Mike D
12-04-2009, 10:29 AM
Blair looked great, coming off the bench for McDyess as the third big and playing 16-25 minutes (depending on circumstance) seems like a solid role for him to grow with.

I'm still pissed. There were so many opportunities Spurs flushed down the toilet.
Although, I'm impressed with our rebounding. That's what kept us in the game considering all the TO's we had. We got very little contributions from several players.

Blair and Timmy were SOLID.

I think you misunderstood. When I said long haul, I meant over the course of this season. Dice is a much better player at this point than Blair and is a better fit next to Duncan.
