Fuck this roster.

I'm content to mail it in and just make Blair the franchise.

Its embarassing what the once might Spurs have fallen to.

I was saying the whole time at the game tonight I wish we had 3 Blairs and 2 Duncans on the floor....nobody else on the team even put forth a fuckin effort

Too bad his teammates don't have his heart. This Spurs team looks worse than last years. Jefferson and Dice look like they have never seen a basketball, nor a bball court. Holt is bound to be pissed about now.

Even when Blair was bad, the effort was still there.
It's hard to tell where the rest of the Spurs head's were.

It's about heart the "entire" game not just in spurts or at the end of the game. If we would have scored a couple more points in the first quarter maybe we could have won it but.... who knows too many maybes.

And speaking of heart, I really took this game to heart. I know it's stupid because it is still early in the season but the only good thing I can see from the lost is to give Blair more playing time the rest of the season. But that's just me.

Hey mate,

I agree with everything you've said and for some reason I also took this loss hard. I know it's December, but I really thought we could get this game. I am also excited to see what Blair can do next game now. He is the only guy who showed up the whole game. TD turned it up late as well. I can't really say much about any of the other guys out there.

Many more games like this and Holt may take up drinking again. Let's hope not, though. Pop needs to start kicking ass like he used to do. The babysitting days are over with.

It's part of the reason why I've wanted a Blair/Hill/Hairston bench rotation for a while..these young, energy guys are tough, they get inside and play tough, and they always give 100% effort..

It's hard with the older guys sometimes..

To me, it's amazing what an incredible driver energy and hunger is... at some point late in the game when Blair cut the lead to 4 points, the entire arena stood up and you could feel the energy there... and it changes the complexion of the game.
I think that's what we missed the most from a guy like Manu. And I think Blair is that kind of energy guy also.

I'm hoping Blair can light a fire under McDyess. Dice makes it look like the Celtics got the right Piston when they went after Sheed. Dice has been as big a disappointment as has Jefferson.

I can't fault those two guys because I have not seen any effort whatsoever to integrate them into the team. I'm sure they're getting an earful about where they should rotate on defense, but offensively, I have seen nothing run for them. It's difficult for me to believe that not one, but two guys that played well over 25 mpg and averaged double figures in scoring would fall off a cliff so much. At some point you have to look for the reason somewhere else.

What the heck has Pop had the team doing with these four days off? There is way too much confusion on the part of everyone from Pop on down. We at times look like the Keystone Kops.

Yeah I totally thought we would get this game as well. But as soon as it started I felt we were in trouble. It's like the bench was our only saving grace this game. Besides Duncan of coarse, I don't think I can ever say anything bad about him, he always brings it even if he isn't thumping his chest after ever play....

I can't hardly ever call out Tim, like you said he brings it 99% of the time when he is able to. I really wanted this game though and it was a tough loss. As bad as we played we still could have won it. Frustrating to see the guys play this bad.

Blair was awesome, but you can't rely on hustle play alone to win games. Not something you can count on consistently. I really want to see Blair play well next game though and get more minutes. Spurs need someone to light a fire under their asses.

I couldn't agree more! Although I think we actually could have pulled this game off if we had more hustle plays from everyone. That would negate some of the turnovers.

But then again I don't think it would have done shit about the missed free throws.... lol

Damn that was atrocious, I just had a bad feeling every time we were at the line tonight.

The loss for me was frustrating more than anything because of all the turnovers and missed free throws. Blair kept us in the game in the end and Duncan kept us in the game the other 3 quarters. I don't expect Blair to play like this every night, but I do think he gained Pops and his team mates confidence which is a good thing, however on the flip side RJ and Mason stunk it up. If Pop can give RJ a bigger role in the offense it may help, he seems to need that to be effective.

Sorry, but the guy that did Whataburger "pop a shot" or whatever it's called was pretty impressive too - he hit back to back shots in the final trash can just for fun

Of all of the players on the court, I was MOST disappointed in dice's game tonight. :(

At least, jefferson's defense on pierce made him a non factor. But dice did nothing. :depressed

Loved Blair though. :ihit

I didn't like the limited minutes Mcdyess got in the last game and his minutes were too spread out this game. When he gets out there and they're trying to run plays he doesn't look "natural" to me. He hasn't yet adjusted to the way the offense runs and looks like he's trying to remember where to be rather than playing ball. He'll need more minutes to settle in the way he did in Houston. On defense I watched 2 plays where Garnett then Perkins both tried to drive in, both used their elbow to create space, and because dice didn't budge he got called for a foul.

The other team also did a great job of reading the play when they'd try and get Dice an open shot.

If his minutes continue to be what they are he'll continue to play up and down ball.

I thought the effort was mostly solid tonight. Best example of that IMO was Bonner who couldn't get his shot to drop tonight, but found a way nonetheless to impact the game through his offensive rebounding. Also, RJ's defense on Pierce was solid.

Don't confuse lack of "effort" with sloppiness, turnovers, and missed shots from 3-range. Blair is a great player but some folks here have formed an emotional attachment to the guy that borders on the unreasonable.

Of interest was Reggie Miller and his observations about Blair. He was impressed and said the one guy Blair should get with to advance his game over the summer is Barkley. Blair showed something tonight that he had not shown in previous games and that is a quick first step. He actually has a game facing the basket that we had not seen until now.

Could he develop an outside shot?
Could he develop a three point shot?
If so, we would go from star prospect to superstar prospect. Maybe spending some time with Barley ain't so bad of an idea.
