Stein's Weekend Dime
2. Man in Demand
Word is Bell has already attracted trade interest from a few contenders even though he just got to Golden State on Nov. 16 in the Stephen Jackson deal. The Spurs' desire to trade for Bell -- don't forget that San Antonio had him in training camp once before, or that he and Tim Duncan are old pals from the U.S. Virgin Islands -- has been confirmed. It's likewise reasonable to conclude that Cleveland, after longstanding talks with the Warriors in the Cavs' pursuit of Jackson, has registered interest in Bell as well.

He's not going to be able to play for 3 months, so I doubt it will happen.

RJ is just a disappointment and I don't know what to say.

If it happened, it'd probably be real close to the trade deadline, and something like Mason/Mahinmi for Bell.

That said, I don't think it's likely, especially since Pop won't like to work in a new player in April.

I'm for keeping RJ. I think he'll be alot like Finley was. I was just contrasting the money. Jeff is definitely not worth the money but he'll help win us another championship.

Jefferson+Bogans for Wallace+Bell might work before trade deadline.

We don't need a move for a wing. We need three of the big four to step up their game. ( Parker, Manu, Jefferson). Those three are taking around 32 shots a game and all are shooting below their career average. The most efficient teams on both sides of the ball tend to win ball games night in and night out. A middle of the road team is all we will be unless those three step it up.

You mean turn him into a set shooter? If this is so there are so many more much better set shooters we could have at not even a 10th of his price.

:nopeHow would we get Wallace when Raja Bell plays for Golden State and Wallace plays for the Bobcats?

Did you miss the news that Bell was traded along with Radmanovic for Stephen Jackson to the Warriors??

To all the fuckers who are jumping ship on RJ after less than 20 games, why don't you all take up the lakers as your favorite team. you fair weather bitches need to find the door, cause no one on the Spurs rolls like that...from the front office on down, there is no panic to be had. You guys fail as fans...GTFO.

Haha, I messed up on that. I forgot the the Jack trade. :lol

Let's just not trade anyone and let them jell, let's see what happens and make a move before the trade deadline if it does not work out.

A 33 year old wing with diminshing skills is what we want? Eh, it could be alright this year...But getting older is not something we should strive for.

well said p2112!!!!!
im sick and tired of hearing negative spurs comments from my fellow fans, im guilty of talking some crap too, but not every damn game, or just because a player has an off game demanding trades. rj will be fine, if he doesnt work out pop wont keep him on the starting lineup, if he doesnt score much, but plays D on pierce then i expect him to play. think about it, he replaced bowen! so its not going to kill us if he doesnt get 20 a night!! (i know 14mil.$) but we have some growing to do.

No I mean how it took Finley some time to get used to the spurs system.

The article says Bell and Duncan are old buddies from the VI but when Bell was in training camp here, it was reported they did not really know each other.

That. It still amazes me how much shit people just flat make up. If that had been the case, they never would have cut Raja. The Spurs were all about making Tim comfortable, to the point where they gave Chris Carrawell, a second rounder, guaranteed money JUST because they shared an agent.
