We can turn this around. We've shown improvement on defense overall this season, and there's obviously going to be growing pains (like the 3rd quarter against Utah today).
We have been competitive on all games. It takes time and patience to put a team together, and even if the loses hurt, this is the time to test, experiment and try new things.
Duncan is playing great, and his teammates will find their groove sooner or later. It's time to put our support behind our team and let them know we love our Spurs.

Go Spurs Go

Note: There's plenty of threads out there to express negativity or anger. Let's keep this one positive and civilized...

Seeing a spry Duncan gives me a reservoir of hope. Funny, at the beginning of the year I was most worried about Tim, now I'm most worried about Manu.

But in keeping this on a positive note, the difference between winning and losing in professional sports is pretty small. I'm still hopeful that the Spurs can start to clean up those sloppy mistakes and tighten their execution. A handful of plays in each of the last couple of losses would have made a huge difference on how we feel about the Spurs right now.

Hope springs eternal! :flag::flag:

I agree with the OP. I believe it's not over, but I'm not blind that things still need to be addressed to get there. These things can't be just swept under the rug and hope it goes away. This team has all the Talent but I'm not sold that it has all the right parts. Maybe I'm wrong and I honestly hope I am, but I do not let everyone decide for me. I have a mind of my own.

I'll be cheering on the Spurs to fight even past the Final buzzer!!!! :flag::flag::flag:

I even seem to remember getting some plays run for Jefferson today... I thought he was more active. It's easy to overlook the positive signs of growth after a loss, but we're getting there. We're going to lose some games while we put everything together and we need to stick through this.

Pushing the panic button before January is just funny.. Especially because almost all great Spurs teams in the Duncan Era have been 2nd half teams..

NZ Spurs
12-08-2009, 01:54 AM
The last time the Spurs were .500 this late in a season was 2003-04, when they were also 9-9. They dropped one game under-.500 when the Lakers beat them at the AT&T Center.

What followed was a 13-game win streak, the turning point in a 57-win season.

Yeah it is funny. On Saturday when watching the Big 12 title game my brother wanted to watch the Spurs game for a bit. I looked and said "It's December basketball and this is for a chance at the national title. The Horns game is more important right now." Kinda says it all.

I believe.
It's been a see-saw this year. At the beginning high level offense with a porous defense.
After that, an emerging defense that brought down opponents scores to double digits but an offense that sputtered and couldn't execute as passing game went south.
The see-saw will level out and stop entirely in a couple of weeks.
Fine tuning after that.

I noticed that too. Setting him up in just outside the post like Timmy is used worked fairly well. Hope it's a trend that continues. His passing (decisions) out of that position will need to improve, but I believe it will once that is implemented more often.

I believe in this team as a team. Faith is a powerful tool that overpowers any deep seated doubt. Keep pounding Spurs and any doubts no matter how strong will make way for reward and success. Don't worry about going down. Prove you won't concede to fear and doubt and that your mind is stronger than any part of your athletic gifts.

Yeah, that was in the third quarter mostly. Unfortunately, RJ didn't get a lot out of them, but it was a good sign nonetheless.
