With Slomo's artistry in display, I felt compelled to contribute in some way....
So without further adieu... here is my Ode to the Playoffs!!!
Playoffs oh, playoffs… it’s official; you’re back!
With Round One approaching, my nerves have gone whack!
What will it take to bring the Larry-O home?
The opposition may seem tough…
And all seek the same goal… but that trophy will soon call San Antonio its home!
Let’s start with the West, let’s sort out the foes.
I’m glad that the teams number two less than my toes.
Phoenix… yes, Phoenix iN-ashes will remain.
And come playoff pressure the Maverick’s ‘D’ will fade.
T-Mac’s heroic performance will be a thing of the past…
For if with the Rockets.... Fate decided we should clash…
A vengeance ten years in the waiting is sure to be had…
The Kings and the Sonics don’t scare me a bit…
And those Grizzlies down in ol’ Tenn… simply don't have 'it'…
The Spurs are on track and returning to form.
And Denver, poor Denver will be the first out the door.
The beast from the East will be a sight to behold…
And I’m not referring to Snaq…
For he will again be hampered by his problematic woes.
I seriously doubt Wade will let HIS Heat fade into the cold of the night…
But you know what? The Piston’s ‘D’ is greased and primed for the fight…
And it will not let heat get the better of its engine…
People will cry "But its Flash and The Diesel!" No matter, next question?
What? No huge market draw this year… not New York? no L.A?
Stern... they say... will be rolling over in his grave... in'bout 40 days.
But wait… hold your darkhorses!!
It appears Chi-town has again entered the fray…
Post M.J. did I hear someone say?
The Nets fate will once again ride the play of Kidd’s skimpy old knee…
And when half-a-season Carter begins to whine like a girl...or kick out his feet...
It won’t even matter that R.J. steps back on the floor to provide some relief.
Can A.I.’s fragile body endure any more battles?
Or will C-Webb's addition become the big X-factor?
Who will win between the Bulls and the Wizards? I don’t know, but in the end... will it even matter?
I feel bad for Reggie's final run… cuz alongside those thugs he was primed for anything but fun.
It appears "Miller time" will be no more...
he will join "The Mailman," "The Round Mound of Rebound" and the "Missing Link - Patrick Ewing" on the list of:
"Jordan mugged my chances of winning a Championship Ring..."
Oprah will console....
Will the Pacers even beat Boston?
Let "The Truth" Pierce step forward, so that we may see another Celtic 'legend' grow?
Or will Pierce receive the full brunt of O’Neal’s sucker blows…

Dang!!! That’s 1/3rd of a full season; I hope fatigue won’t be the story….
Of how "Another Duncan-in-his-prime year was wasted for naught!!!"
And Whottt will exclaim.... and be the first fan distraught...
For I really… really… like our chances going into this post season.
And I’m glad D-Fish is fishing for the first time this time of the season.
Unlike other years... this year's offense will not fade in the clutch…
Cause Manu’s heroics will keep us out of the reach of our opponent’s touch.
Speaking of reaching, who? I say who? will catch our daunting Parker...
As he zig-zags through the lane to toss his sweet little archer...
And let's not forget the signing of Barry...
who was brought here to burry trey after trey from the lush "land of plenty"...
I'm sure that Brent will not pull a Hedo... cause at least he has galls and the good type of ego...
And what about Horry... let's check out his story...
This player has earned enough rings for a hand...
And people will wonder is there anything left in his tank...
You better BELIEVE "Big Shot Rob" will come through...
And add to his legacy... as he has one more thing to prove...
There is also one: "Big Dog," came late into town...
He is renowned for his shooting, but you better mark down...
That before it is over.... before it is all said and done.
Robinson will likely contribute... in more ways than one.
And then there is Duncan... our stoic cornerstone...
Let’s pray his right ankle won’t fold anymore…
For the fate of the Spurs lies with Duncan at its core…
A parade by the river... this city will always want one more...
Renewed Championship Glory the Spurs will attain.
Three Titles in 7 years... Dynasty! Dynasty! They will begin to say!!!
