Here in Madison it snowed like crazy. There was 2 ft of snow outside my house and it is still snowing. Blizzard warning is in effect until midnight tonight. Check out the size of this snowball!!! Unreal!

Damn!

We in SE Michigan got our first snow last night...it was majestic about midnight last night. Me and the wife had the two dogs running around in the snow, it was frickin great.

Anyway, it all melted once the sun came out and now its just rainy, cold and extremely windy.

I dont know how southerners do without snow. Its so damn...magical and peaceful. Its a piece of serenity that cant be duplicated.

Fresh snowfall, no noise carries in the air, no one on the roads, just the sound of nothing in a beautiful blanket.

I like the crunch under your feet when the snow packs.

And the glisten is pure awesomeness on a clear, brisk night.

Oh, and some asshole thought it was a good idea to do 60 in that mess at around 5 AM. He ended up in the ditch right in front of my house.

Exactly. So serene and dare I say, romantic. 'Twas semi-good packing snow last night, albeit very wet.

Its amazing really, that you know everyone in this area has basically been born and raised here, that the first few snows its like natives forget how to drive in it. They adjust pretty quickly, but you always get the asshole like you just described who just...doesnt get it.

If we ever get snow in San Antonio again Im going to make one probably about basketball size and see what happens if I roll it down the hill. will it build up like in the cartoons? :lol

I took this just now. Right outside my house.

They arent running the city busses, the University of Wisconsin is closed, and most buisnesses are closed as well. Today everyone is basically spending the day shoveling or snowblowing their property.

You have no idea how much people would overreact in San Antonio if we suddenly got a snow fall like that. Shit, just the other day people where stocking up on water bottles and canned food because of a 50% chance of fucking snow flurries. :lmao The kind of snow flurries that melt as soon as it touches the ground and only lasts for like 5 minutes.

I'd be willing to put money down that most people here wouldnt even think about trying to shovel their driveways before they attempt to plow their car through it.

It would be imposible to drive a normal car through the snow here. We just automatically add 15-30 extra minutes to the start of our routine during the winter. But I tell you what, it definately makes summer time even more amazing.

Btw, accourding to the news we got about 18 inches of snow. That is just the snow fall. Doesnt take into account the snow that is drifting with the wind.

That is the shit. I always heard Minnesota, by FAR gets the most snow per year than anywhere in the country, but thats pretty impressive.

We in Michigan get a lot of snow, especially those who live on the west side of the state (lake effect), but thankfully we havent been dumped on yet. I have a lot of work travel to do right now, I am glad the weather permits.

Always good to see people that have been to or are still in Madison on a site like SpursTalk. I live on Willy St. Many, many cars still snowed in.

Insane. I don't know how I did it. I remember walking to the Plaza or Pauls Bar in sub zero conditions at times, yet now this 37 degree weather kills my skin. You going to UW Madison?

I got cousins in Madison!!!:toast

LoL, they were thinking about retiring in Arkansas a couple of years ago. Went to check it out summer before last, and their car wouldn't make it down the rutted roads where they were looking at property, then they came down to SA to visit me when it was hotter n' hell.!!! They decided to stay in Madison!!!:tu
:lmao

My brother goes to UW. I work at a health club (Princeton Club).

Madison is beautiful and a great place to live. Winters can be a pain in the ass but the summer is amazing!

I like the weather here in hell. Keeps you on your toes.

It can go from cold with the sun out, to warm and cloudy, to windy and raining.... and that could all happen in just 1 day and in many different variations of that. :lol

I find myself constantly facinated with our weather dome. I swear, If the sun burned a hole right through the ozone above San Antonio, the harmfull rays would just bounce off and effect everything around us but leave San Antonio untouched. :downspin:

Shoveling driveways and sidewalks, snow plows driving around screwing up all your hard work, frozen gutters, and kids off school for 2 weeks worth of snow days?? I never found the fun in that.

But sure there are magical times with the first snowfall of the year. Walking thru a tunnel of snowy trees, snowball wars, sitting by the fireplace, having hot chocolate, cooking. But with every subsequent snowfall the magic fades a bit; and by the 4th one it's pretty much g-o-n-e! :lol

-5 right now. I just took my dog out to piss, HOLY SHIT! Wearing just crocs on your feet in negative five degrees, even for 30 seconds, is really dumb.
