Did he come that cheap? Word was they were in full salary dump mode trying to unload Millwood's contract and use the extra cash to fill out the roster with washed up vets and young kids that come cheap.

I hope so, because we are on the verge of trading Millwood. Harden is younger and is capable of making an impact right away. He does have injury problems though, doesn't he?

So what's the rotation going to look like?
1. Harden
2. Feldman
3. Hunter
4. Holland
5. Injury-plagued platoon of McCarthy/Harrison/Sheets?/Hurley
Is Feliz gonna get a chance to start or is he being groomed to be a closer?

Harden has got some really nasty stuff. Hasn't really put it all together consistently for a season though and doesn't he walk batters at a really bad rate? Definitely has the potential to be a really, really good pitcher if he puts it all together though.

What's coming out up here us that the Rangers want to move Feliz and get this... CJ to the starting rotation and then trying to find a few guys to fill out the bullpen like possibly Darren Oliver among others. The consensus thinking here is that the rangers are doing this because reliever are cheaper to get than starting pitchers so it will save money.
A shitload of risks being taken but I admire what Daniels has been able to do given the shitty ass resources Hicks' problems have left him with. He's done an admirable job of bottom feeding IMO.

CJ doesn't have the mental make up to be a starter. It has already been tried once and was a failure. Why are the rangers messing wth one of their biggest strengths, the pen. It makes no since to move him into the rotation, now you have 2 ? Marks instead of one. You can't expect Chris Ray to jump into the 8th inning role after having an awful year coming of TJ surgery. Thye have plenty of candidates to move into the rotation and fuckin CJ Wilson shouldn't be one of them

By the way I like the harden move, low risk very high reward. We know what millwood is, a solid #2 or 2.5 starter and Harden has Nast strikeout stuff something this team hasn't had since Nolan. In a perfect world with no Tom Hicks we could have both in the rotation

Ben Sheets is in no position to be commanding anything beyond a bare minimum "prove to us you're healthy" contract. And I've heard that if he's ever actually healthy, the Rangers are the frontrunners to get him.
