It was a total mismatch, the Spurs were just a giant roadblock for the Cavaliers. I found this finals boring as well as the recent Lakers/Orlando NBA finals. Best NBA finals this decade Spurs/Pistons, Lakers/Celtics, Heat/Mavs, Pistons/Lakers.

The lowest rated finals ever I believe, which led to some corrective marketing moves the following year.

I'd rather win a boring Finals series than choke a 2-0 lead despite having tons of excitement

lol, same here. I didn't watch any of the finals from 2005 to 2007, so i decided to youtube them today for some reason.

I've never choked away a 2-0 lead in an NBA playoff series just like you have never won an NBA championship. I've never understood why fans refer to themselves as if they are a part of the actual team.

I'm a Spurs fan and even I can admit that this was a boring series (even though I enjoyed it). The NBA finals should not be an uncompetitive ass-raping.

Spurs-Detroit in 05 was the best finals of the decade. :tu

the cavs had no business to be there. From a purist point of view the detroit -san antonio series were great.

Worst finals is the mavs-heat in my opinion. That type of game isn't ball anymore. It's just a ft fest. I can understand any angered mav fan regarding that series.

boston.balla
12-11-2009, 07:31 AM
furthermore i think the worst type of ball is just a bad officiated game. I prefer an ugly game(techs, lots of misses, horrid defense, fights) but with two teams that fight for it than watching at a something which has no link to ball whatsoever.

The worst series EVER in the history of this game is the lakers-kings and we all know why. It's the only series where i really wanted to watch the 2 teams but i would just close the tv during the game because i couldn't watch the "basketball"

Sure, Adelman told CWEBB to stay put, he didn't listen, Horry pulled back on that trigger and shot him right in the back of the head....BOOM!

Just like that.

I don't understand people saying it was a boring finals and expecting to hurt spurs fans feelings.

Yes guys, it really sucks that we swept a terrible team in the finals and won a championship lol

The 2007 Finals were not boring.

It was a lot of fun watching Bruce F****g Bowen shut down Lebron during that series. Bowen was unbelievable.
Tony abusing Boobie was great too.
The rest of the guys didnīt have to work much.

Not Spurs' fault the Cavs were the best the East had to offer.

Also if it was so boring, why go out of your way to look for it on YouTube? If it was so boring why even bring it up? If it was so boring, why is it even on your mind in the middle of the night?

Spurs lucky that they got this sooner, or Lebron might of been shooting 100 fts

Funny that you mention that game. At the end of the first half, the Lakers were unfairly credited with a 3-pointer that did not beat the buzzer.

That should have been minus 3 points and an eventual lost.

what a tired, stupid argument. this place has become so infested with shit talking laker groupies though that I will stir the pot:

nets lakers was just as bad, though I thoroughly enjoyed pistons - lakers and celtics - lakers. even though they were ass whoopings like nets lakers and cavs spurs, the pistons and celtics played physical team basketball that made the lakers nuts shrivel, twas very entertaining.

and since tv ratings are so important to you laker fans... has a team with kobe on it (we wont say kobe-lead because there just isnt enough of a sample size) ever had more than 20 million viewers? because the Jordan (lead) bulls averaged 25 million. as far as I can tell kobe's best was 2001 with just under 19M, and Im sure that had nothing to do with MVP allen iverson or that shaq guy

I guess this means Kobe only needs 4 mvps, 5 finals mvps, 2 rings, 1 gold medal, a DPOY and 5 million more viewers to reach MJ status. which means that if all goes well, kobe can be the goat in only 5 years! please, hold your breath till this happens.

"What a boring Finals" can be said for just about any Finals this decade with 2005 being the exception. 2005 was really the only series to have two evenly matched opponents giving it their all with no controversy.

Every other Finals this decade has either had...

1. Weaksauce opponents from the Eastern Conference (2000-2003, 2007),
2. Controversy (2006)
3. Opponents who rolled over and died like bitches (2004 Lakers, 2008 Lakers and 2009 Magic).

On second thought I'll give 2006 a pass. While that series was marred by controversy and people whining about the officiating the series was still entertaining lol.

2005 was definitely the most competitive and evenly matched.

yes they were the best teams of the decade. but they came from smaller, unflashy markets so the league had to intervene in order to stop an inevitable spurs pistons rematch. and after their puppet replacement teams(dallas, miami) got humiliated in '07 and the spurs crushed all agian, they had to intervene again to put a stop to it once and for all by setting up a series of events that can only be described as shocking, unforseen coincidences that miraculously resulted in the re-establishment of the two biggest market rivalry franchises into unstoppable powerhouses literally overnight after each had previously endured years of mediocrity....at the same exact time...completely by chance of course.
